Full Show - Knicks Preview Is What We're About Today
Today's show stuck to the topic: Knicks-Spurs, Game 4. We talked about what went wrong for the team the last game and heard from players, coaches and fans about how they feel going into tonight and beyond. We also talked about the violence after Game 3. Everyone decent decried it as they should. People honestly don't need to act like that. Not here. Not to gloss it over, but the Yanks won again with Jazz homering using Judge's bat and Spencer Jones knocking his first MLB home run. Sadly, the Mets lost. All that and some laughs and it's a show.
Hour 1 - Knicks Preview, Refs Affecting Games
Knicks/Spurs as game 4 is tonight at MSG. Jose Alvarado said Wemby got away with one, but it will be his last. Gio doesn’t want them trying to get physical revenge, he wants them to win. The NBA clearly doesn’t want to suspend Wemby for a Finals game. We also talked about the NBA wanting this series to go 7 games as the ratings have been great, but is it screwing with the integrity of the game? We talked about how refs can really affect a game in the NBA. Jerry's first update starts with KAT talking about the Spurs setting the tone. The Yankees beat the Guardians as Jazz homered again with Judge’s bat. Spencer Jones hit his first MLB HR. The Cardinals shutout the Mets, 7-0. Braden Montgomery of the White Sox hit a walk-off HR in his MLB debut with Bob Costas on the call. Finally, the GPS had Gio going all over the place on the ride home yesterday.
Hour 2 - Fools Causing Violence, KAT On Knicks Complacency, Tonight's Spread
We started the hour talking about the violence that happened at the Knicks watch party. Gio said everybody had to come out on social media to say they don’t condone it. Jerry returns for an update, but first we wish Gio a happy 44th birthday. KAT talked about the Knicks needing to do more, they were too relaxed. Dylan Harper talked about walking around NY and getting booed. Wemby talked about the fans being attacked on the streets. The Yankees beat the Guardians as Jazz hit the game winning HR using Judge’s bat. Spencer Jones hit his first MLB HR. The Mets were shutout by the Cardinals, 7-0. Plus, we talked about the spread for tonight. Jeff Pearlman said the Spurs are going to win the next three games. Gio said there’s something about his voice saying this that is annoying.
Hour 3 - Fast Start For Knicks, Jazz & Judge's Bat, Your Calls
Dunkin sent ‘Happy Birthday Gio’ and Knicks donuts this morning. . We also took calls on tonight’s Knicks game and how they have to get off to a fast start. A caller wonders what happens if the Knicks don’t win the championship. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Kendrick Perkins talking about how aggressive the Spurs were in the last game. The Yankees beat the Guardians as Jazz hit the game winning HR. Gerrit Cole only went 4 innings. Plus, we took calls on tonight’s Knicks/Spurs game four.
