Episode 9: Who TF am I?! Self Reflection + Finding Your Identity

Oh, self. We can be different versions of ourselves throughout our lives, even in our day to day. In this episode, we reflect on the the art of self-reflection and self-growth journey. By nature, it can often feel lonely and selfish since it's internal, but it doesn't need to be!! ❤️‍🔥 As Piera shares in the episode: "Growth is like a mirror. When you notice and share what you are learning in your self-growth journey with the people around you, it’s like a chain reaction, and feels more inclusive since healing by nature is lonely and selfish. It feels supportive, there's a feeling of safety, to guide each other and feel less alone." Granted, you can lose friends and connections as well, BUT it's all for the best. As Harlee shares: "I have a hard time losing friends, but I also realize like I’m not the person I used to be. When you are on your self-growth path, some people don’t necessarily like it because they may not be at your point and they could end up holding you back. You can hope that someday they’ll catch up to you, but I do find most people who continue to be in my life know and understand that we’re all on our own path, trying to be the best selves we can be for each other and ourselves .   We also talk about what we experienced during our recent travels, and how we don't hate living in LA (as much).  There's a lot to learn about yourself when you get out of your bubble, you reconnect with yourself in a new way, and learn what parts of yourself you can release and let go of to continue on the path of who you are becoming and want to be.  ❤️‍🔥 Casually Mental is a mental health podcast that isn't self help-y with new episodes dropping bi-weekly on Wednesdays. episode Episode 7: Exploring Family Complexities artwork

Episode 7: Exploring Family Complexities

In this very raw episode, we dive deep into the complexities of family. We share personal stories, which are both weirdly on our dad's side 🤔 and open up about the challenges we've faced, including the absence of connection and estranged family members. We delve into the difficult topic of abandonment issues and discuss our journey toward finding peace with our past. This episode is a candid exploration of the emotional rollercoaster that comes with navigating family dynamics --- all with deep vulnerability and a little humor, of course. Tune in as we share our stories, coping mechanisms, and reflections on the journey toward healing and acceptance. Get ready for our most real and vulnerable conversation yet, as we unravel the layers of our family experiences and seek to inspire listeners on their own path toward finding peace within their family complexities. Watch or listen to the episode to get more tips and stories from Piera and Harlee. ❤️‍🔥 Casually Mental is a mental health podcast that isn't self help-y with new episodes dropping bi-weekly on Wednesdays. Episode 6: Turning Imposter Syndrome Into Self-Love

Oh, imposter syndrome. We try to feel confident and sometimes it just takes over. In this episode, we talk about the common struggle of imposter syndrome and the journey to overcome it so we can strengthen the relationship with ourselves.  Join us as we explore the realities of feeling inadequate and doubting our own abilities. We'll discuss the psychological factors at play (bullying, family trauma, societal expectations). How do we get over imposter syndrome? Some things that work for us are: 1. Daily gratitudes: whether something simple, complex, or even things you are grateful for that didn't happen 2. Hype songs (we LOVE the song 'You Gotta Be' by Des'ree) Watch the episode to get more tips and stories from Piera and Harlee. ❤️‍🔥 Casually Mental is a mental health podcast that isn't self help-y with new episodes dropping bi-weekly on Wednesdays.
