Podcast Summary The Mystery of Being Loved by God Part 1 The Nature of Gods Love We are children of a loving Father, and it is important that we live with the consciousness that we are deeply loved by God. Understanding His love changes how we see ourselves, how we relate to Him, and how we love others. 1. Gods Love Is Everlasting Gods love has no beginning and no ending. He loved us before we understood His love and continues to love us with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3 Psalm 103:17 2. Gods Love Is Unconditional God loves us with agape love. This is a selfless, unconditional, and sacrificial love. Agape means unconditional and sacrificial love Phileo refers to friendship and affection Eros refers to romantic and physical love Storge refers to natural family love Gods love is not based on our performance or perfection. 3. Gods Love Makes Us Accepted Because God loves us, He has accepted us in Christ. Our identity is not built on rejection, failure, or the opinions of people, but on Gods grace and love. Ephesians 1:6 4. Gods Love Is Demonstrated Through Action God did not simply tell us that He loves us. He demonstrated His love by giving Christ for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8 As believers, we are also called to demonstrate love through our actions and not merely through words. 1 John 3:18 5. Gods Love Is Sacrificial The greatest demonstration of Gods love is found in Jesus Christ. God loved the world so deeply that He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him would have eternal life. John 3:16 The mystery of Gods love is that He loved us before we could earn it, accepted us despite our failures, and demonstrated His love through the sacrifice of Jesus. When we understand how deeply God loves us, we can confidently receive His love and learn to extend that same love to God and to others.
