The Barber, David Nolen, joined Coach Kris Herron on this weekend eve. The two covered a foggy morning filled with deer in the road and a run through classic song titles from the American songbook. Mrs. Sheryl Bonner Upchurch stopped by to share memories of the 1976 Bicentennial celebration in Clay County, including a look back at the Freedom Singers, a group Dave was part of.

The Grinder, Rusty Taylor, joined Coach Kris Herron to get the day rolling. The guys talked about Taylor’s brother-in-law’s wrestling name, then laughed through a recap of a potato gun mishap that left Taylor with a black eye. They also got into a discussion about Polk salad from the pokeweed plant and pear salad, along with a look at headlines from The Clay Times Journal.

Shortt shared stories from being on the road for the holiday, while Herron recapped a weekend that included stops at Shoney’s, Waffle House, and some unplanned work around the house. The Bone, Heath Stroud, also checked in with a report from the Frog Level Festival.
