Rooted and thriving: what happens when I don't skip the process

In this episode of Cultivate, I’m talking about what it means to be truly rooted and thriving in our spiritual lives. It can be easy to focus on the appearance of growth or measure our faith by what others see, but God calls us to develop deep roots that allow us to stand firm and flourish, even when life feels challenging. Being rooted means trusting Him daily, staying connected to His presence, and letting His truth guide every part of our lives. I reflect on Jeremiah 17:7-8 and how a life that is planted in God is able to endure drought, heat, and uncertainty while continuing to bear fruit. I share ways we can strengthen our roots through prayer, reading Scripture, walking closely with God, and surrounding ourselves with a community that encourages growth and accountability. Thriving is not about perfection or ease, but about allowing God to work in us and through us in every season. I hope this episode encourages you to go deeper with God, trust Him in every season, and live a life that is firmly planted in His love, producing lasting fruit that blesses others and honors Him.

episode No turning back: What happens when going back isn't an option artwork

No turning back: What happens when going back isn't an option

In this week’s episode of Cultivate, we take a closer look at how God calls us to move forward when it feels easier to stay in the familiar. Sometimes we hold on to what once was because it feels safe or because we do not fully see what God is doing ahead. Yet, when He calls us forward, it is always with purpose, promise, and love. We reflect on the story of Lot’s wife and how looking back can cause us to miss what God is preparing before us. We also talk about the importance of trusting God enough to let go of what no longer belongs in the new season He is leading us into. Through Scripture and reflection, this episode is a reminder that God is faithful in every step. He is the One who redeems our past, transforms our present, and leads us toward a future that brings Him glory. May this conversation encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Him, to trust His timing, and to walk confidently in the direction He is calling you.

episode Living a life empowered by the Holy Spirit artwork

Living a life empowered by the Holy Spirit

In this week’s episode of Cultivate, I sit down with my friend Eliane Campbell to talk about what it really means to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. So often we overcomplicate our relationship with God or compare ourselves to others, but the truth is that the Spirit meets each of us personally and works through who we are. Together we explore how to develop a genuine relationship with the Holy Spirit in everyday life. We talk about what it means to stay connected to God in different seasons, why comparison can hold us back, and how the fruits of the Spirit grow through dependence on Him rather than our own effort. Eliane also shares wisdom about embracing our unique personalities in prayer, letting go of perfectionism, and remembering that growth is a lifelong process. We also offer practical ways to stay close to God, including spending time in Scripture, keeping an ongoing conversation with Him, and leaning on the encouragement of a community of believers. I hope this episode encourages you to embrace the presence of the Holy Spirit in your daily life and reminds you that God desires a real and lasting relationship with you, right where you are.

Peace in the dark: What to do when darkness takes over

In this episode of Cultivate, we talk about how to hold on to peace when life feels heavy and uncertain. Challenges will come in different forms, and they often leave us feeling unsettled or afraid. Yet the good news is that peace is still possible, even in the middle of those difficult seasons. We look at the words of Jesus in John 16:33, where He reminds us that although troubles are part of this world, peace can be found in Him because He has already overcome. That truth gives us hope no matter what we are facing. Together we walk through three simple but powerful ways to experience peace in the middle of hardship. These include being honest with God in prayer, relying on the Holy Spirit for strength and guidance, and standing on the promises of God as a firm foundation. I hope this episode encourages you to take hold of the peace that is already available in Jesus and reminds you that no matter what you are walking through, you do not have to face it alone.

Church Hurt: Healing and victory on the other side of pain, Part 2

In today’s episode of Cultivate, I sit down with my friend Adri to continue a heartfelt conversation about church hurt. This is a topic that affects many people and can leave deep emotional and spiritual wounds. We talk about how to recognize these experiences and how to approach them with wisdom and faith. We explore the difference between simple offenses and the deeper struggles that can happen in church settings. I share thoughts on how these experiences can shape trust, identity, and relationships and why returning to Scripture is so important for guidance and clarity. Healing is also a big part of our conversation. We discuss rediscovering identity in Christ, rebuilding trust, and finding communities where faith can be lived in healthy and supportive ways. Thank you for tuning in. I hope this episode encourages you to find hope, grow in your faith, and experience God’s love in a real and freeing way.
