Lincoln has been welcoming Vietnamese immigrants for 50 years, and Vietnamese is the third most spoken language in Nebraska. We know that support for newcomers is essential for them to integrate into the community and achieve success. Asian Center Vietnamese Community Advocate Thuy Ho talks about the layered and holistic ways she provides this vital support to her cultural community.

Health Education & Advocacy for New Americans

When newcomers arrive in Lincoln, learning a new language and learning to navigate a new and complex health system is a huge challenge. The Asian Center's advocates step into that need with experience and expertise to help immigrant neighbors overcome barriers and begin to thrive.
