In late 2015, 30-year-old mother of three Jaimee Lee Miller was reported missing from the Barrie, Ontario area after family and friends last had contact with her in mid-October. Months later, on March 16, 2016, her remains were discovered in a wooded area off Gill Road in Springwater Township, north of Barrie. Police and the Office of the Chief Coroner determined her death was a homicide, and a joint investigation between the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and Barrie Police Service continues.
