Born in Ukraine, raised in Jordan, Rita shares memories of her childhood in Ukraine and talks about what the war in Ukraine really means for Ukrainians. Navigating between her identities which are often conflicting with each other in the media, as a Palestinian living in diaspora, she also shares her thoughts about her “lost homeland” - Palestine.
Russia's military invasion in Ukraine on February 24th 2022 prompted a discourse between uncivilised vs relatively civilised - heroes vs unsung heroes - whose suffering is more worthy? So, of course, we also talk about the double standards and the on-going pinning of Ukrainians against Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan, etc ...
