moving at the speed of trust: a 27-minute philosophical musing

why do we so often feel the need to go faster, to "go big or go home", to say yes to the more intense option rather than the softer, more gentle choice? & what would it look like to move at the speed of trust? “To not rest is really being violent towards your body, to align yourself with a system that says your body doesn't belong to you, keep working, you are simply a tool for our production…” – Tricia Hersey support this work by joining our P [https://www.patreon.com/emergentwisdom]atreon [https://www.patreon.com/emergentwisdom] or make a one-time donation on V [https://venmo.com/u/caitlinludlow]enmo [https://venmo.com/u/caitlinludlow] or PayPal [https://paypal.me/orienttothrive]. be sure to sign up to receive updates on upcoming virtual and in-person offerings at https://www.orienttothrive.com/ [https://www.orienttothrive.com/] this May i'll be offering a 4-week "Take Your Power Back" virtual series that you can participate in from any corner of the world. we'll come together to remember we are not alone in navigating pain & dis-ease in the body & leave empowered with tools to invite ease back into your life. i will weave together brain re-training practices (meditation, guided imagery, writing exercises, breath work) as well as self-compassion tools to keep us centered in kindness for the suffering our bodies have endured. there will be discourse, practice and opportunity for dialogue. learn more & register here [https://www.orienttothrive.com/events/take-your-power-back].

episode investigating the grass is greener effect: a 23-minute philosophical musing artwork

investigating the grass is greener effect: a 23-minute philosophical musing

join me in investigating the ways that the "grass is greener" or "i'll be happy when..." continues to fuel our systems of oppression.  who benefits when we disconnect from the present moment and place our happiness in the future when we have that higher paying job or that lakeside real estate?  who benefits from us always wanting more, more, MORE.  i invite you to begin to notice the ways in which you disconnect from the present moment and place your happiness in some future context and, thus, resist what is. episode finding a therapist: personal reflections on the process of calling in support artwork

finding a therapist: personal reflections on the process of calling in support

finding a therapist is much like finding a friend or finding your community -- it requires us to look within and have a sense of what is important to us, of what we're wanting to move toward (or away from). if you don't have a sense of this with words, i encourage you to listen to and trust your body's cues. how do you feel before, during and after interacting with the person you're either considering or are actively in therapy with? & lastly, i share about the importance of including the body. talk therapy is out, somatic therapy is in. have questions? or interested in working with me one-on-one? reach out! caitlin@orienttothrive.com support this work by joining our P [https://www.patreon.com/emergentwisdom]atreon [https://www.patreon.com/emergentwisdom] or make a one-time donation on V [https://venmo.com/u/caitlinludlow]enmo [https://venmo.com/u/caitlinludlow] or PayPal [https://paypal.me/orienttothrive]. be sure to sign up to receive updates on upcoming virtual and in-person offerings at https://www.orienttothrive.com/ [https://www.orienttothrive.com/] looking for more support in the form of books? head over to my bookshop.org [https://bookshop.org/shop/orienttothrive] page and explore the books that have supported me! music by Chris Collins, https://indiemusicbox.com [https://dhgfadc.r.af.d.sendibt2.com/tr/cl/7WZo7IYQ6ayuuA-d-p529B6AlNqVzO7Ns_yFfRh7nie684deDsAGMQbYIP_fbjH9-9O_rzFs76AG9B_t8ROHyiIoStlqN6qEoxn6JA6gCZPc3liB2jmAGrDCv0boz3ddRKf40lWAo6uhpnvKIRXP79UUy_E31umyDqI3k3uljPtXS6GP8AFrXYsABXKDSbc0FQ-GN8HdV7uqG-iON4dVOlLTE2iPLZaaoEo]

tending the soil of our inner landscape: a 22-minute breath work & guided meditation

each month the dark skies of the new moon offer us a reminder to slow down and tend to the seeds that have yet to bloom or perhaps have yet to be planted. this alternate-nostril breath work practice and guided meditation is inspired by this new moon energy, and invites you to slow down, regulate your nervous system, get as curious as you can and see what you find within your inner world. remember, there is no "right" or "wrong" here, so leave your moral judgements at the door. all of you is welcome. support this work by joining our P [https://www.patreon.com/emergentwisdom]atreon [https://www.patreon.com/emergentwisdom] or make a one-time donation on V [https://venmo.com/u/caitlinludlow]enmo [https://venmo.com/u/caitlinludlow] or PayPal [https://paypal.me/orienttothrive]. be sure to sign up to receive updates on upcoming virtual and in-person offerings at https://www.orienttothrive.com/ [https://www.orienttothrive.com/] looking for more support in the form of books? head over to my bookshop.org [https://bookshop.org/shop/orienttothrive] page and explore the books that have supported me! music by Chris Collins, https://indiemusicbox.com [https://dhgfadc.r.af.d.sendibt2.com/tr/cl/7WZo7IYQ6ayuuA-d-p529B6AlNqVzO7Ns_yFfRh7nie684deDsAGMQbYIP_fbjH9-9O_rzFs76AG9B_t8ROHyiIoStlqN6qEoxn6JA6gCZPc3liB2jmAGrDCv0boz3ddRKf40lWAo6uhpnvKIRXP79UUy_E31umyDqI3k3uljPtXS6GP8AFrXYsABXKDSbc0FQ-GN8HdV7uqG-iON4dVOlLTE2iPLZaaoEo]
