episode S3 E6 : Spilling the Tea with Samah & Sheren - Rapid Fire Round cover

Description

☕️ To us, a big part of Empatea is holding space and listening without judgement, whether this be while we are interviewing guests or simply catching up on our busy lives. This week, Sheren and Samah have a mini catch up from binging Bridgerton Season 2 to having some fun with some quick rapid fire questions.... To all our Indian listeners, if you recognise some of the questions, its because they were inspired by the Bollywood talk show Koffee with Karan ;) So what are you waiting for? Grab a cuppa and join us for a quick rapid fire episode!

S3 E5 : Breaking Down Business Anthropology with Adam Gamwell

☕️ Adam is business and design anthropologist, podcast host and entrepreneur. He uses his anthropological skills, human centred design and storytelling to help organisations get smart about people and culture and create change. His podcast This Anthro Life explores humanity's creative potential through design, culture and technology and is one that inspired us greatly! He is also a Senior Anthropologist at MotivBase, a research firm studying cultural change at scale by combining digital tools, Big Data and Anthropology. In this episode, we begin by talking to Adam about what anthropology means, business anthropology, the changing nature of work and the intersection of big data and people. In the second half, we dived deeper into Adam’s podcast, ideas that have influenced his anthropology and more… Stay tuned to hear Adam’s amazing insights…

S3 E4 : Living and Recovering from Anorexia with Catherine Wesselinoff

☕️  Catherine is a creative writer and academic living in Sydney, Australia. She lectures in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. She graduated from the University of Oxford in 2012 and her award winning memoir about her experience there, “My Oxford”, was published in 2019.  In her memoir, Catherine delves into an eighteen month period of her life, spanning from her time at Oxford and thereafter, where the intersection of her intellectual life and her mental illness, anorexia, began her descent into being unwell. She takes us on her courageous journey of finding self-love, self-empathy, and her innate acknowledgement of needing help, all of which slowly redirected her to her road to recovery.    Catherine dedicates this memoir as a piece of advice to her younger self, and hopes that it can be a source of comfort to anyone out there - you are not alone. Anorexia is very much a hidden illness, and something society doesn’t acknowledge enough of - we truly believe there is something for everyone to take away from this episode, and that to whoever is reading this, we hope you will have a listen
