About emploYAY

Podcast for Rethinking employment, job search and career creation. In our bi-weekly interview sessions, we want to learn about new and innovative employment situations. What are alternative ways to find a new job? How can we find more meaning in our work? How can we leverage our strengths and full potential in our jobs? How do companies need to react to adapt to nonlinear careers when recruiting? What are new and flexible approaches in terms of working time and location? Should we even measure working time or is more about the impact we have? We want to discuss those questions with companies, HR people, founders, recruiters or everyone else, that offers new and alternative approaches to those questions. We also want to present people with interesting jobs and people that have created something meaningful within their “standard” jobs. We won’t ask you to quit your job and become self-employed. Because we believe there must also be answer in employment jobs.

#14 | Jannike Stöhr - 30 jobs in 1 year (career, inspiration, new work)

Have you ever wondered how it would be like to try out every job you have in mind? Jannike Stöhr, professional job tester, author, speaker and coach, has tested 30 jobs in only one year. She shares her very fascinating personal story, how she started and realised this project and, as a result, found the most important thing for herself. "I wanted to have a career, a higher salary. I consumed a lot. And I didn’t find happiness in all of that. At least, it didn’t last for a long time.“ "Then I figured out that every decision I had made in my life was not my own decision or because I wanted it, but I would have done it to get appreciation or someone else wanted me to do it." This is a very touching episode on - how giving up everything can help you to find other things inside yourself - why trying to find happiness is maybe not the right way - about the importance of experiencing things and "getting out there" - why intuition is crucial when making decisions in our lives - what is needed for the jobs of the future Enjoy this wonderful and honest episode about an exciting life journey which inspired me a lot. #13 | Andreas Schanzenbach - From employee coaching to creating a better society (leadership)

„We need to challenge the status quo“. Andreas Schanzenbach, Co-Founder of Cromatics, takes us on a very inspiring journey and tells us how they regularly work with professional coaches to increase the quality of their work, but also to help their employees to grow on a personal level. Very honestly, Andreas speaks about a time, when they understood their problems start at the top, within the leadership level. Once they have achieved great results with coaching work on the leader level, they started to bring coaching work to the rest of the company. Employees are encouraged to work on private projects at work. Andreas tells us, why he believes this will make his company more successful in the long run, why this increases ownership and the creativity of the employees. Giving back to community is a true credo at Cromatics as well as „Planet earth first, humans second, technology third“. Be excited for a great ride with a true role model in progressive and modern work environments. We’ll learn: * How to create a healthy society * Why companies should serve humans * How coaching helps to increase the quality of work * Why you should always change your work situation from within * Why employees need to decide the way they want to work

episode #12 | The impact of female leadership on work environments (women, career, womenintech) artwork

#12 | The impact of female leadership on work environments (women, career, womenintech)

During the female founders event by WLOUNGE, the panelists of the event answered the question “How will work change once we have more women in leadership positions”: Nina Jetter (Investment manager at Project A), Jag Singh (Managing Director at Techstars), Cilia C. Kanellopoulos (Head of Social Innovation at Vodafone Institute), Katy Campbell (Head of Brand and Communication at APX), Mali Baum (CEO of WLOUNGE) and Karolina Attspodina (CIO of WLOUNGE) share their voices and their experience with us. We talk about creating environments where - we have more women at the table and it is more about the person and not such much about the gender - it is not so much about to “fit in” and adapt to a business culture which is male dominated and more women will be able to be themselves, because no one should change their personality in order to become successful. We learn why more female role models are crucial so younger women can choose the one that fits to them and don’t need to stick to that one example that made it, but also why it should be the new normal to have female leaders, so younger female can see they can get there and how. Decisions will be made in a more diverse way from different perspectives by bringing more emotional factors and empathy to the table. Our current, very ancient working concepts will need to be rethought, so they fit to the needs of women and especially mothers. In a world of female leadership or at least a 50:50 split, we would not need to worry about diversity and inclusion anymore and can build better products and solutions instead. By bringing the female perspective in while building products, we make sure to have the voice of the majority of our population being heard and understand this powerful consumer group much better.
