Understanding More of the Puzzle

After a recent appointment with my ENT, I walked away with something I had been seeking for a long time: understanding. Join me as I reflect on recovery, obedience, trust, and the freedom that comes from realizing that while the outcome may not be entirely in our hands, the effort is. Most importantly, we'll look at what Scripture teaches about faithfully doing what we can and trusting God with the rest.

Never Finished Healing

In this episode, I share a personal reflection on what it means to keep growing even years into a recovery journey. As I begin new personal training sessions through the YMCA and continue working on speech and swallowing therapy, I’ve been thinking a lot about progress, limits, and the mindset behind improvement. Sometimes growth is physical, sometimes it’s mental—and often it’s both at the same time. Most importantly, I reflect on how faith continues to carry me through every stage of this journey and how God remains present in both the challenges and the progress. Seeking Clarity While Walking by Faith

In this episode, I share some personal reflections on seeking answers, trusting God, and continuing to move forward even when every question has not been resolved. Drawing from James 2:22, I discuss how faith is often demonstrated through obedience and action, even in seasons of uncertainty. I also share how my ongoing journey with breathing exercises, speech therapy, and swallowing therapy has given me a new perspective on prayer and God's provision. As I reflected on things I have long prayed about—including my desire for greater lung capacity and the ability to sing—I realized that God sometimes answers our requests by giving us opportunities to grow, strengthen, and persevere rather than by instantly changing our circumstances.

When Clarity Arrives Slowly: Processing Results, Faith, and Perspective

In this episode, I reflect on a recent medical procedure and the quiet space that follows receiving results that aren’t simple to categorize. There was some improvement, but not the kind that feels easily defined as “good” or “complete,” which led me into a deeper season of processing rather than reacting. I talk about what it means to sit in that in-between space—where honesty and hope have to coexist—and how understanding doesn’t always arrive in the moment something happens. Sometimes clarity comes later, after reflection, when things begin to settle internally. This reflection also connects to Scripture, exploring the phrase “he came to himself” found in both the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15) and Peter’s deliverance in Acts 12. These moments highlight how clarity often follows experience, not the other way around. Ultimately, this episode is about learning to hold reality with patience, perspective, and steady faith while things are still unfolding.
