This episode delves into the roots of Asians stereotypes like Fu Manchu and highlights the impact of Anna May Wong as the first Asian Hollywood star. I also go into the psychology of stereotypes, citing Pragya Aggarwal's book Sway on our implicit biases.

Episode 2 - The Yellow Peril - The History of Xenophobia

This episode explores the history of East Asian Xenophobia. It begins discussing the colonial roots of this anti-Asian narrative and Genghis Khan's Mongolian Empire. I also explore how race was constructed, the colouring of Asian, black, and brown skin, plus the hierarchy of our human species. This is interesting for all ears. I move onto speaking about how Asians found themselves in America and our treatment there are immigrants, and also a mention of early Chinese immigration in Britain.

Episode 1 - Where Are You From? Exploring British Chinese Identity

This episode explores what I think about British Chineseness and identity in a multi-cultural environment. Sharing personal stories and feelings on being British Chinese and challenging tropes about our culture. It also explores how others identify with their heritage and provides statistics about Chinese Diaspora and provides a statistical picture of ethnic minorities in Britain.
