Four Reasons to Build Your Life On The Gospel Foundation

What holds when everything you’ve built starts to shake? We open 1 Corinthians 15:1–11 and trace a straight line back to the gospel Paul calls “of first importance,” not as a slogan but as the ground under our feet. Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose on the third day—according to the Scriptures—and that reality changes how we live, lead, and endure. We walk through the foundation many Christians assume but often sideline, exploring how gospel drift usually begins with distraction, not denial. Pastor Tim unpacks the core of the good news: substitution at the cross, the significance of the burial, and the power of the resurrection. Then we weigh the historical evidence—Cephas, the Twelve, more than five hundred witnesses, James, all the apostles, and Paul himself—to show why Christian hope is anchored in an event, not opinions or trends. If Jesus didn’t rise, faith is empty; because He did, grace is solid, hope is durable, and mission is worth everything. Finally, we look at how the gospel reshapes a person and a church. Paul’s confession—least of the apostles, unworthy, yet sustained by grace—becomes a model for humility without self-loathing and labor without burnout. From Sunday worship to weekday decisions, we keep returning to the same center: the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. That’s how shame loses its grip, performance loses its throne, and fear gives way to forgiveness and new life. If you’ve felt the pull to build on programs, personalities, or relevance, this message invites you to stand again on Christ alone. If this encouraged you, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs steady ground, and leave a review so others can find it. What’s functionally at the center of your week right now? Belief, Behavior, Belonging: The Christian Life Examined

What makes someone a genuine Christian? It's a question that strikes at the heart of faith itself, and one that Pastor Timothy Mann addresses with remarkable clarity in this enlightening message from Providence Church. Nicholas Kristof once had a public conversation with Pastor Tim Keller that was published in the New York Times. In this exchange, Kristof asked if he could be considered a Christian while rejecting core Christian doctrines—a question that reflects the spiritual confusion of our age. Pastor Mann uses this as a springboard to develop a comprehensive framework for understanding authentic Christian identity. At the core of this message are three essential pillars: what a Christian believes, how a Christian behaves, and where a Christian belongs. Pastor Mann skillfully demonstrates why this order matters profoundly. Christianity begins with belief—not just any belief, but specific convictions about God's existence, our sinfulness, and Christ's saving work through his death and resurrection. Drawing from Romans 10:9 and other key passages, Mann establishes that certain doctrines like the virgin birth and bodily resurrection are non-negotiable for genuine Christian faith. With pastoral wisdom, Pastor Mann warns against the dangerous heresy of moralism—the false gospel that suggests we become Christians through good behavior rather than through faith. Instead, he clarifies that our behavior changes as a result of our belief, not as a prerequisite for it. When we truly believe, God declares us righteous (justification), and through the indwelling Holy Spirit begins making us righteous (sanctification), producing virtues like those described in 2 Peter 1:5-9. Whether you're questioning your own faith, seeking to understand Christianity better, or wanting to grow in your ability to explain the gospel to others, this message provides the biblical clarity you need to address life's most important question with confidence and hope. episode What If Weak Faith In A Strong Savior Is What Holds Us artwork

What If Weak Faith In A Strong Savior Is What Holds Us

One question cuts through every distraction: What must I do to be saved? We sit with the Philippian jailer’s midnight crisis in Acts 16 and let the Bible answer with the kind of clarity most of us secretly crave: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.” Not maybe. Not later. Not if you perform well. We talk about why the gospel offers real assurance, and why salvation is a promise rooted in Jesus, not a project built on our confidence. We also slow down on a misunderstood idea: the power of faith is not in how strong you feel, but in who you’re trusting. Weak faith in a strong Savior holds, while sincere faith in the wrong thing collapses. That’s why “Jesus plus” is not good news at all. If we try to add works, rituals, or self-sufficiency to Christ, we quietly shift our trust off of Him and back onto ourselves. Then we define repentance the way Scripture does in Acts 2 and Romans 10: not mere regret, not an apology, not behavior modification, but a real turning from sin and self to God. We connect that to the fruit of true conversion, including baptism, changed priorities, and a life that keeps going when feelings dip. We also highlight the “whoever” promise: no background, ethnicity, status, or shameful history puts you out of reach. If this message helps you, subscribe, share it with someone who’s still asking the question, and leave a review so more listeners can find the hope of the gospel. How can we pray for you? episode What Happens When “Be Tolerant” Really Means “Stay Silent”? artwork

What Happens When “Be Tolerant” Really Means “Stay Silent”?

“Tolerance” can sound like the gentlest word in the room, but what happens when it becomes an untouchable moral absolute that shuts down debate and demands agreement? We slow down and look at the modern “new tolerance” that goes far beyond basic civility and patience. This isn’t a call to be harsh with people who disagree with us; it’s a call to see clearly when tolerance turns into a creed that labels any exclusive truth claim as immoral. We anchor the whole conversation in John 14:6, where Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” That single sentence draws the line between biblical Christianity and moral relativism, religious pluralism, and the idea that all beliefs are equally valid. We also work through why the new tolerance can’t hold up logically, because it makes its own exclusive truth claim while insisting nobody else can. From there, we get practical: what this pressure looks like for parents, students, churches, and Christians trying to live faithfully in public. And we end where we should end, with the mercy of Christ. If Jesus is who He says He is, then His exclusivity isn’t hatred, it’s rescue, like a rope thrown to someone drowning. Subscribe for more biblical teaching, share this message with someone who needs clarity, and leave a review so more listeners can find the show. What’s the hardest place you’ve felt the demand to “be tolerant” by staying silent? How can we pray for you? Text us and tell us how the episode helped you, as well. episode The Question That Changes Everything artwork

The Question That Changes Everything

A jail cell. Blood on the floor. Hymns in the dark. Then an earthquake that flings open doors and drops chains like they were never locked. Acts 16 isn’t just a dramatic story, it’s a spotlight on the most urgent question a person can ask: “What must I do to be saved?” When the Philippian jailer realizes his life is collapsing, he doesn’t ask for advice or therapy language or a fresh start. He asks for rescue. We follow the Bible’s own trail through Acts 16, Romans 10, and Acts 2 to hear a clear answer that cuts against the grain of self-salvation. We talk about repentance and faith, what it means to confess Jesus as Lord, and why salvation is not a prize for the religious or the disciplined. We also slow down to name the pressure points: the false comfort of “be a good person,” the temptation to treat church as a checklist, and the way crisis exposes what we’re really trusting. Along the way, we wrestle with a tension Scripture holds without apology: God initiates and empowers salvation, and we are still responsible to respond. The Holy Spirit brings conviction, God “shakes” what we lean on, and yet the call remains personal and direct: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” We unpack belief as more than head knowledge, explain why the object of faith matters more than the strength of faith, and center the hope of the gospel on Jesus’ cross and resurrection. If you’ve been avoiding the question, or if you’ve answered it but need to remember what you’re standing on, press play. Subscribe, share this with someone you care about, and leave a review so more people can find clear Bible teaching on salvation, repentance, faith, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
