Description

Gabrielle Mueller left her 9 and 8-year-old kids with a teenage sitter on April 1, 2001 so she could go to McDonald's to buy them McFlurries ice cream. Her strangled body was found in a wooded area in Lakewood, N.J., two days later. Her killer remains at large, though investigators believe the case is "solvable." Journalist Brian Johnston of the Abury Park Press investigates.

In December 1966, during Bruce Springsteen's senior year at what was then known as Freehold Regional High School, his hometown was rocked by a double killing discovered at the home of one of the school's teachers. Ernest Furblur, 28 at the time, coached a highly competitive boys' gymnastics team and taught physical education at the school. When Furblur came home from work on Dec. 2, 1966, his 22-year-old wife and infant son were missing. Three days later, police found their bodies inside the Furblur home. And suspicions immediately centered on the man who'd reported them missing. Journalist Brian Johnston investigates.
