#009 Dan Pokharel — Following Christ from Nepal to the U.S. and Back

He grew up in Nepal with 33 million Hindu gods. Little g, false gods. At age 20, he met Jesus Christ, the One True God. And that changed everything for him. His name is Dr. Dan Pokharel, and he is a pastor, church planter, missionary, and the executive director of Global Mission Nepal based in Charlotte, NC. More recently he founded the National Baptist Convention of Nepal as the first denominational organization of its kind in country that only received the Gospel of Christ in the 1950s. It was fifty years later, in the early 2000s that Dan came to US as a young Christian to study and prepare for ministry, thinking he would go back to Nepal. But God had other ideas, and Pastor Dan has been planting Nepali-speaking churches in Texas, in Boston and New England, Charlotte and Nepal ever since. In fact, since 2013, he has led Global Mission Nepal to plant 167 churches across the entire country. #008 Bob Magruder — Creating a Culture of Disciple Making

He heard the Great Commission as a command. So he just did what Jesus said: "Go, therefore, and make disciples." And for Dr. Bob Magruder, he's been doing it for 40 years since, as a pastor in just about every role you can imagine, and now, in a new role as the full-time Executive Director of Multiplying Culture Ministries. He is co-author of Multiplying: Creating a Culture of Disciple-Makers, which he wrote with his wife Barbie. He is a discipleship coach. He is a mentor for leaders who want to make disciples. #007 Marc Corradino — Thailand to Tampa to the Space Coast

He has served in Thailand with the International Mission Board; he has served as a missions and sending pastor in Tampa. #006 Dr. Terry Dorsett — Growing the State Convention in New England

He is a church planter. So, he packed his wife and kids in the minivan and moved to New England to plant a church in 1994 and he never left.   In fact, God used Dr. Terry Dorsett and his family to plant multiple churches in Vermont. They went on to lead the Green Mountain Baptist association. They relocated again to plant churches in Connecticut, and eventually, they followed a call in 2015 to move again, this time, to lead the Baptist Convention in New England (the BCNE) — which is the state convention encompassing all six New England states.   They called a church planter to lead the convention. And in 11 years now, Dr. Dorsett has a number of notable accomplishments, one in fact, involved changing the name of the convention to the Baptist Churches of New England. But, that is not all that's changed. Under Dr. Dorsett's tenure, Southern Baptists in New England have seen amazing results in church planting, and baptisms, and giving, and growth. All for God's glory.   All because a church planter who said at the time that he was not qualified, but called. And, he trusted God to help him figure it out. #005 Hilario Polanco — Helping Kids Fly High in Brazil

Pastor Hilario Polanco couldn't adopt just one kid, so he adopted the whole neighborhood. Well, not exactly, but what he did to create a safe, Gospel-centered before-school / after-school place for kids has transformed hundreds of lives and families, and the whole town for Christ.  From Bible camps, and games, to martial arts, music and violin lessons, Voando Alto (The Flying High Foundation) is a Brazilian NGO with an all-volunteer staff that provides supplies and resources, food and health care, and most of all, a loving environment where kids from mostly poor, single-parent homes can grow. Ongoing and future projects include an on-site dental clinic, and finishing up construction of a gym and job-skills center that will double as a neighborhood community center and a launching pad for microbusinesses.
