For Juneteenth Week we’re revisiting one of the best horror-action sequels ever made: Blade II! What happens when Blade is forced to team up with the very vampires he’s spent his life hunting? Well, apparently the answer is: a whole lot of ass kicking, several questionable alliances, and an underground army of mutant blood junkies that have everybody rethinking their priorities. When a new breed of super vampires called Reapers starts treating both humans and vampires like an all-you-can-eat buffet, Blade finds himself working alongside a squad of elite vampires who were literally trained to kill him. Because nothing says teamwork like strapping a bomb to your coworker’s head on day one. We get: • Enemy-of-my-enemy friendships nobody asked for • Some of the coolest vampire fight scenes ever put on film • Mutant blood monsters that somehow make regular vampires seem reasonable • A whole lot of daddy issues • Blade being cooler than every other person in the movie combined So grab your sunscreen, avoid suspicious vampire nightclubs, and press play as we recap the sequel that proved Blade wasn’t just a one-hit wonder. For #BlackWeek of All 5’s Month, we headed to a cabin in the woods with The Blackening (2023) and honestly? This might be one of the funniest horror movies we’ve covered. A Juneteenth reunion weekend goes completely off the rails when a group of friends discovers a racist board game that wants to test their Blackness… and kill them if they fail. What starts as trivia night from hell quickly turns into a fight for survival involving crossbows, secret grudges, questionable decision-making, spades, and one of the pettiest villain motivations in horror history. We get: • A horror movie where the characters are actually smart • Black trivia with life-or-death consequences • The least amount of splitting up we’ve seen thus far • The most aggressive game night in cinematic history • More spades talk than some actual family reunions So grab your cards, do not renege, and press play as we recap one of the sharpest horror comedies of the last decade. Just remember: if a racist board game asks you a question, “I watched Living Single” might be the safest answer. For #ThisCenturyWeek of All 5’s Month, we head to a remote family vacation mansion where a rich family reunion goes spectacularly wrong in 2011’s You’re Next. Mom and Dad just wanted to celebrate their anniversary. Instead, they got sibling rivalry, inheritance schemes, three animal-masked killers, and enough family dysfunction to keep a therapist employed for decades. We get: • One of the most capable final girls in horror history • Rich people making terrible decisions under pressure • A family dinner interrupted in the worst possible way • Home Alone-level booby traps with significantly higher stakes • Three masked killers learning that they picked the wrong damn house Turns out when your boyfriend accidentally brings a woman raised by Survivalist Batman to a murder party, things don’t go according to plan. For #LastCenturyWeek we headed to the most famous motel in horror history and discovered that sometimes the real danger isn’t stealing $40,000… it’s stopping for sandwiches with a weird guy who talks to his mother through the walls. After impulsively stealing a small fortune from her employer, one Sexy Secretary hits the road hoping to start a new life with her broke boyfriend. Instead, a rainstorm, a creepy motel, and a taxidermy enthusiast named Norman Bates derail those plans in spectacular fashion. We get: • One of the most iconic scenes in horror history • A motel with fewer guests than a Spirit Halloween in February • More mommy issues than an entire season of reality TV • The realization that bird taxidermy should probably be considered a red flag So grab a sandwich, avoid the shower, and press play as we recap the movie that helped create the slasher genre and proved that sometimes the scariest monster is an awkward man with unresolved family trauma. For Sequel Week of Vacation Horror Month, we could’ve hit the beach with Michael Caine in Jaws: The Revenge… but instead we chose chaos 😌 This week we’re ruining everybody’s vacation plans with 3 Headed Shark Attack — a movie where scientists studying ocean pollution realize WAY too late that all this trash in the water is creating mutated sea monsters that are mad, hungry, and absolutely sick of humanity. We get: * More dramatic slow-motion swimming than an entire season of Baywatch * A soundtrack acting like every scene is the finale of a Fast & Furious movie * A three headed shark high off garbage and ready to absolutely fuck shit up * Danny Trejo randomly pulling up because apparently even he wasn’t safe from Vacation Horror Month * People repeatedly jumping into the water AFTER seeing a giant mutant shark 😒🤦🏾‍♀️ So sit back, relax a bit, and press play to hear about the dumbest survival decisions imaginable, all made by people who could’ve simply stayed their asses on land 🦈🦈🦈 Up next: New Month, New Theme!
