Chef Craig Nephi: Healing Colonization on White Mountain Apache Land

Chef Craig is an Apache/Navajo chef from the White Mountain Apache land in Northeastern Arizona.  This interview with Chef Craig discusses his culinary training and his return to White Mountain Apache land in order to return Apache foods to Apache lands and heal the effects of centuries of colonization.  His Café Gozhóó is part of an addiction and recovery center where he trains program participants in culinary arts and in recovery of their dignity and culture via food.  Chef Craig is the epitome of Food Medicine in his use of food to heal himself, his community and his culture.  He, and his Café Gozhóó is the recipient of the first Food As Medicine Certification from Gu Qi To Go & Phoenix Moon Acupuncture & Apothecary, LLC.  Photo credit: Ari Carter Craig
