This podcast from Williamson Health - the regional healthcare system serving Williamson County and surrounding communities - is designed to bring expert healthcare insight directly from inside the organization to the community. The podcast's name reflects the goal of bringing knowledge from inside Williamson Health out into the community, while also emphasizing the belief that good health begins from within. Hosted by Michele Simpson - the chief marketing and communications officer at Williamson Health - the podcast will feature expert guests covering a variety of relevant health topics. Dr. Assad discusses what first drew him to medicine and ultimately to critical care, how his training in pulmonology shapes the way he cares for ICU patients, and what it is like to divide his time between the Williamson Health Medical Group Pulmonology Clinic and the Williamson Medical Center ICU. He also explains what happens inside an ICU, what many people may not fully understand about critical care, and how TV and movies often differ from the real-life experience. Throughout the episode, Dr. Assad shares insight into the teamwork, technology and compassion that define ICU care. From ventilators and lifesaving equipment to complex decision-making and family conversations, he explains how ICU teams work together with other specialties to provide the right care at the right time.
