Hello and good morning. הבוקר קמתי מאוחר. This morning I woke up late. לכן, לא היה לי מספיק זמן כדי לאכול ארוחת בוקר כמו שצריך. So, I didn’t have enough time to eat a proper breakfast. אפילו לא שתיתי את הקפה של הבוקר. I didn’t even drink my morning coffee. אני חייב לעצור בבית קפה ולהזמין משהו בדרך לעבודה. I have to stop at a café and order something on the way to work. אז מה אני מזמינה? So what am I ordering? אני רוצה קפה הפוך גדול I want a large café hafoukh. עם הרבה חלב, ובלי סוכר. With a lot of milk, and no sugar. אני שותה חלב רגיל, לא חלב דל שומן ולא חלב שיבולת שועל. I drink regular milk, not low-fat milk and not oat milk. אני לא אוהבת סוכר בקפה. I don’t like sugar in coffee. אני שותה את הקפה שלי חם, לא רותח. I drink my coffee hot, not boiling hot. אולי כדאי גם לאכול משהו קטן עם הקפה? Maybe I should also eat something small with the coffee? יש כאן עוגיות קטנות וגם כריכים של בוקר. There are small cookies here and also breakfast sandwiches. אני אוהבת לאכול מלוח בבוקר. I like eating savory food in the morning. אז אני לוקחת כריך עם אבוקדו וקפה. So I’m taking a sandwich with avocado and a coffee. ובא לי גם מיץ תפוזים. And I also feel like having orange juice. הוא סחוט, וזה טעים מאוד. It is freshly squeezed, and it’s very delicious. המלצר שואל אותי אם אני אוכלת כאן. The waiter asks me if I am eating here. אבל אין לי זמן, אני לא רוצה לשבת, אני רוצה לקחת את הכל בטייק אוויי. I am a family doctor and I work in a clinic. בבוקר אני מגיעה לעבודה ורואה את רשימת המטופלים של היום. In the morning I arrive at work and see the list of patients for the day. יש לי היום ילדים, מבוגרים וגם אנשים מבוגרים מאוד. Today I have children, adults, and also elderly patients. כל אחד מגיע עם בעיה אחרת. Each one comes with a different problem. הבוקר קיבלתי מטופל מבוגר שהתלונן על כאבי גרון חזקים וחום גבוה. This morning I saw an adult patient who complained of strong sore throat and high fever. בדקתי אותו: הסתכלתי על הגרון שלו, הקשבתי לריאות שלו ומדדתי חום ולחץ דם. I examined him: I looked at his throat, listened to his lungs, and measured temperature and blood pressure. על פי הבדיקה חשבתי שיכול להיות שמדובר בזיהום. Based on the examination, I thought it might be an infection. נתתי לו הפניה לבדיקות דם ובדיקת שתן. I gave him a referral for blood tests and a urine test. בינתיים נתתי לו מרשם לאנטיביוטיקה. In the meantime, I gave him a prescription for antibiotics. הסברתי לו איך לקחת את התרופה וכמה ימים להמשיך טיפול. Before I sign a rental contract in Israel, it is important to ask a few questions to make sure we understand everything. אז הנה שמונה שאלות חשובות, והתשובות שבדרך כלל מקבלים. So here are eight important questions, and the answers we usually get. לכמה זמן החוזה? לשנה אחת או לשנתיים? For how long is the contract? One year or two years? 👉 בדרך כלל זה לשנה, אבל לפעמים אפשר גם לשנתיים אם בעל הדירה מסכים. 👉 Usually it is for one year, but sometimes it can also be for two years if the landlord agrees. האם אפשר להאריך את החוזה בסוף התקופה? Can the contract be extended at the end of the period? 👉 כן, בדרך כלל יש אופציה להאריך, אם שני הצדדים מרוצים. 👉 Yes, usually there is an option to extend if both sides are satisfied. מה שכר הדירה? והאם הוא יכול לעלות במהלך תקופת השכירות? Yallah! 🏠 Hebrew + English Translation אני מחפשת דירת שלושה חדרים. גדולה. I am looking for a three-room apartment. A big one. אני רוצה מרפסת, זה מאוד חשוב לי. I want a balcony, it is very important to me. אני צריך גם חניה כי יש לי רכב גדול וקשה מאוד לחנות בתל אביב. I also need parking because I have a big car and it is very hard to park in Tel Aviv. חשוב לי מאוד שיהיה ממ״ד בתוך הדירה. It is very important to me that there is a reinforced security room (mamad) inside the apartment. יש לי ילדים קטנים אז אני מעדיפה לא לצאת מהבית באמצע הלילה כדי לרוץ למקלט אם יש אפשרות כזאת. I have small children, so I prefer not to leave the house in the middle of the night to run to a shelter if there is such an option. אני רוצה דירה קרובה לים, עם תחבורה ציבורית טובה ונוחה. I want an apartment close to the sea, with good and convenient public transportation. אם יש גישה לרכבת קלה, זה הכי טוב. If there is access to the light rail, that is the best. אני גם רוצה לדעת כמה הארנונה. והאם יש דמי ניהול? ועד בית? I also want to know how much the municipal tax is. And are there management fees? Building committee fees? כי זה בטח עוד כמה מאות שקלים בחודש שצריך לקחת בחשבון. Because that is probably another few hundred shekels per month that need to be taken into account. חשוב לי להבין את כל העלויות של הדירה, לא רק את שכר הדירה. It is important for me to understand all the costs of the apartment, not only the rent. בדירה עצמה חשוב לי שיהיה מזגן כמובן ומטבח מאובזר עם מקרר, תנור, כיריים, מדיח כלים. In the apartment itself, I need air conditioning of course and an equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, oven, stove, and dishwasher. אלו דברים שאני רוצה לקנות. These are things I want included. אני רוצה חוזה שכירות לשנתיים. I want a two-year rental contract. אני לא רוצה כל שנה לעבור דירה. I don’t want to move every year. וכמובן שאני רוצה דירה משופצת ונקייה. Hello, I want to book a table for three people, please. איזה כיף — יש מקום! How nice — there is a table available! כשאני מגיעה למסעדה, אני אומרת למארחת שיש לי הזמנה. When I arrive at the restaurant, I tell the hostess that I have a reservation. אנחנו הולכים לשבת בשולחן. We go sit at the table. היא שואלת אותנו אם אנחנו רוצים תפריט בעברית או באנגלית. She asks us if we want a menu in Hebrew or in English. אני אומרת: אני רוצה תפריט בעברית, כי זה תרגול טוב בשבילי! I say: I want a menu in Hebrew, because it is good practice for me! אנחנו יושבים ומסתכלים על התפריט. יש הרבה דברים טעימים. We sit and look at the menu. There are many tasty things. ויש לי שאלות, אז אני שואלת את המלצר: And I have questions, so I ask the waiter: מה התוספת עם הדג? אורז או תפוח אדמה? What is the side dish with the fish? Rice or potato? אפשר סלט ישראלי בלי בצל? Can I have an Israeli salad without onion? השניצל מגיע עם צ’יפס או שצריך להזמין בנפרד? Does the schnitzel come with fries or do you need to order it separately? אנחנו מזמינים פרגיות, סלט קצוץ, חומוס, טחינה, ודג סלמון. We order chicken thighs, chopped salad, hummus, tahini, and salmon fish. הכול טעים מאוד. חבל על הזמן! Everything is very tasty. Amazing! אחרי הארוחה, אנחנו מבקשים חשבון: After the meal, we ask for the bill: אפשר חשבון, בבקשה? Can we have the bill, please? אנחנו בודקים שאין טעות בחשבון. We check that there is no mistake in the bill. אנחנו משלמים בכרטיס אשראי ונותנים טיפ למלצר, כמובן. We pay by credit card and of course we leave a tip for the waiter. לפני שאנחנו הולכים, אנחנו אומרים תודה למלצר.
