In the autumn of 1888, fear spread through the narrow streets of Whitechapel as a brutal killer stalked London's East End. Women were found murdered under horrifying circumstances, and the newspapers soon gave the unknown killer a name that would become infamous around the world: Jack the Ripper. Despite one of the largest investigations in British history, the killer was never identified. Witnesses contradicted each other. Suspects came and went. Evidence disappeared into the fog-filled maze of Whitechapel.
