Description

Bucket list moment ✔️ A few of us from our RV park swam with manatees at Hunter Springs Park [chatgpt://generic-entity?number=0] in Crystal River [chatgpt://generic-entity?number=1] — 62° air, 72° crystal-clear spring water, and the gentlest giants gliding right past us. Floating quietly while a manatee swims up to you? Pure magic. Sometimes the best memories happen when you get a little cold, a little brave, and dive in. 🌊 Visit BonnieLang.com to watch video.

Kayaking with Manatees on the Chassahowitzka River

Paddling the Chassahowitzka River feels like slipping into wild, untouched Florida. We launched in a tandem kayak with friends from our RV park and quickly found ourselves surrounded by quiet beauty—sunlit trees, birds warming their wings, and clear water winding through the springs. Then came the moment everyone hopes for: manatees. These gentle giants drifted right beneath our kayaks near the Crack, and we even saw mamas nursing their babies. With fish jumping around us and the peaceful flow of the river, it felt like kayaking through a hidden sanctuary. If you’ve ever wanted to paddle alongside manatees in their natural home, this river delivers pure magic—and reminds you that the best adventures happen when you slow down and let nature set the pace. We launched from the Chassahowitzka RV Park, $5 parking and $45 Tandem Kayak Rental.

What if winter didn't feel like winter at all? Ft. Walton Beach, Florida

What if winter didn’t feel like winter at all?We rolled into Fort Walton Beach, just outside of Destin, Florida, and I was instantly giddy. Would the emerald water really be that beautiful? (Spoiler: yes.) What began as a mid-December stop turned into a full month of sunshine, 70–80° days, and bayside mornings at Destin West RV Resort that never got old. What do you do when the view outside your RV looks like a postcard? You slow down. Foggy mornings, boats drifting by, lazy lunches in Destin, and sunsets that made everyone stop talking. Is there anything better than sipping a Bushwhacker while the sun melts into the Gulf?We met up with friends, chased great food (including a lobster roll I’m still dreaming about), and even wandered as far as Panama City Beach and charming Rosemary Beach. And New Year’s Eve? Pajamas, RV windows, and fireworks—because who says that isn’t perfect?Rainy days came and went, but beauty showed up more often than not. A rainbow after a storm. A stingray gliding through the water just before we left. Isn’t that the kind of goodbye that makes you want to come back?Florida didn’t just give us a destination—it gave us moments. And really, isn’t that why we travel?

We Came for the Beach - Gulf Shores, Alabama Gave Us So Much More

We pulled into Gulf Shores, Alabama planning to stay a month—and quickly learned why so many travelers never want to leave. From iconic beach stops and jaw-dropping Gulf Coast sunsets to an unexpected day as a featured extra in the movie Deadly Destination Wedding, this stop was full of surprises. Thanksgiving turned into a true RV-life experience with beachside potlucks, new friends, bike rides through town (including a few very real gator sightings), pickleball, oyster nights, and Bushwackers at Flora-Bama. We explored Orange Beach, Pensacola’s emerald waters, festive lights at The Wharf, drone shows, local food favorites, and cozy evenings under Christmas lights back at the park. If you’re traveling the Gulf Coast by RV—or dreaming about it—Gulf Shores offers the perfect mix of coastal beauty, great food, and welcoming community. Sometimes the best travel moments aren’t planned… they find you when you slow down and say yes to the journey. Check out previous episodes for travel inspiration!
