About Innovation Church Messages

This is the weekly message from Pastor Billy Holden here at Innovation Church, Lafayette, IN. Our Vision… is to create irresistible environments that allow the unchurched (those who have never been to church before) and the dechurched (those who have been to church and decided not to go back) to take a second look at Christ and His church. Our Sunday morning environments are casual, engaging, fun, and friendly, and we allow people a safe place to come and investigate Jesus and His Word.

“From Failure To Fire” - Week 5

From Failure To Fire is the powerful conclusion of The Comeback series—a journey that reminds us our worst moments don’t have to define our future. What if your greatest failure wasn’t the end, but the starting point of something greater? Throughout this series, we’ve followed Peter’s story—from denying Jesus in fear to standing boldly in faith. Now, in Acts 2:14–41, we see the full transformation: the same man who once hid now stands before thousands, filled with the Spirit, proclaiming the truth—and 3,000 lives are changed. Peter’s story is our story. He didn’t just make a small mistake; he failed when it mattered most. And many of us know that weight—the regret, the shame, the quiet thought, “That’s not who I wanted to be.” We carry those moments like a heavy burden, believing they define us. But when the Spirit of God fills your life, everything changes. God didn’t erase Peter’s failure—He redeemed it. His past wasn’t the end; it became the platform for God’s power. The same is true for you. Your failure is not your identity, and it’s not your finish line. It’s the place where God’s fire can begin. This message is a call to lay down what you were never meant to carry. Through repentance, surrender, and obedience, God offers a fresh start. When you step into His Spirit, your past loses its power, and your purpose comes alive. Because when God defines you, failure turns into fire.

“The Power to Begin Again” - Week 4

The Power to Begin Again is the fourth message in our series, The Comeback—a journey that reminds us our worst moments don’t have to define our future. What if your greatest failure didn’t have to be the end of your story? What if God could take your lowest point and turn it into a brand-new beginning? In this 5-week series, we follow Peter’s incredible transformation—from denying Jesus to boldly preaching at Pentecost, where 3,000 lives were changed. If you’ve ever felt like you’ve gone too far or messed up too badly, this series is for you. Because with Jesus, the greatest comebacks start after the worst days. This week, we step into Acts 2:1–13 and witness the moment everything changes. The Holy Spirit arrives with wind and fire, filling ordinary people with extraordinary power. It’s a powerful reminder that you don’t have to rely on your own strength to begin again. Desire isn’t enough, and willpower alone won’t sustain you when your soul is empty. In this message, we’ll discover four life-changing truths: you can’t do it alone, God initiates the power, He fills what is available—not what is perfect—and His power always comes with purpose. The same Spirit that empowered the early church is available to you today. Where do you need God’s power in your life right now? What if your comeback isn’t about trying harder, but surrendering deeper? This week, take a step of faith—ask God to fill you with His Spirit and walk boldly into the new beginning He has for you.

episode “Wait For It” - Week 3 artwork

“Wait For It” - Week 3

What if the hardest part of your comeback isn’t the failure—but the waiting that follows? In Week 3 of The Comeback, we step into the space between promise and fulfillment, where it feels like nothing is happening… but God is doing His deepest work.In Acts 1:3–14, the disciples find themselves in that very tension. Jesus has risen, the mission is coming, but first—they must wait. While they’re focused on when, Jesus redirects them to what. He shifts their attention from timing to purpose. Because waiting in God’s hands is never wasted. This message reminds us that the miracle didn’t start when it suddenly appeared—it started in the unseen, in the heat, in the preparation. Waiting isn’t passive; it’s active obedience. It’s choosing to stay where God placed you, to trust what He already said, and to remain faithful even when nothing seems to be moving.Too often, we chase new direction when we haven’t followed the last instruction. But God uses seasons of waiting not to delay us—but to develop us. Because if opportunity comes without preparation, it can crush what God intends to grow.So if you’re in a season where prayers feel unanswered, doors seem closed, and progress feels stalled—don’t give up. God is working beneath the surface.Because if you can trust God in the waiting… you’ll be ready when He moves in the suddenly.

episode “When Shame Won’t Let You Go” - Week 2 artwork

“When Shame Won’t Let You Go” - Week 2

When Shame Won’t Let You Go is the second message in The Comeback series, inviting us to confront the weight of failure and rediscover the grace of Jesus. We live in a culture that quickly labels us by our worst moments—where one decision, one mistake, or one failure can feel like it defines our entire identity. Over time, those moments don’t just shape how others see us—they shape how we see ourselves. In John 21:1–19, Peter knows this feeling all too well. After denying Jesus, he returns to fishing—back to what’s familiar, predictable, and safe. It’s what we often do when shame clouds our sense of purpose. We retreat. We hide. We assume the calling is gone. But Peter’s failure didn’t cancel his future—and neither does yours. What’s striking in this passage is how Jesus responds. He doesn’t confront Peter with anger or disappointment. Instead, He meets him with provision, presence, and patience. Before addressing Peter’s failure, Jesus serves him breakfast. It’s a reminder that God’s love isn’t earned through perfection—it’s given freely, even in our lowest moments. Then comes restoration. Three questions. Three opportunities to reaffirm love. Jesus doesn’t just erase Peter’s past—He reinstates his purpose. This sermon is a reminder that shame doesn’t get the final word—Jesus does. And His voice is not one of condemnation, but calling. Your story is not over. In Christ, failure is never the end—it’s often where the comeback begins.

Easter Sunday 2026 “The Day Hope Came Back” - Week 1

What if your worst day wasn’t the end of your story? What if failure didn’t get the final word? This Easter, we begin The Comeback, a powerful 5-week journey through Peter’s life—a man who fell hard, but didn’t stay down. In his lowest moment, Peter denied even knowing Jesus. Fear took over. Regret followed. And like many of us, he became someone he never thought he’d be. In that moment, it felt like his story was over. We’ve all been there—stuck in the weight of our mistakes, wondering if we’ve gone too far or messed things up beyond repair. Failure has a way of convincing us that hope is gone for good. But then… Sunday came. When the tomb was found empty, everything changed. The resurrection of Jesus wasn’t just a miracle—it was a turning point. It declared that sin, shame, and failure don’t get the last word. Hope walked out of the grave. Grace rewrote the ending. And Peter’s story didn’t end in denial—it led to restoration, purpose, and bold faith. This message reminds us that God’s love isn’t based on our perfection. He meets us in our worst moments and offers us a new beginning. The same Jesus who rose from the grave invites you to bring Him your brokenness and receive His grace. Maybe your story isn’t over. Maybe this is your turning point. Where do you need hope to come back to life?

En fantastisk app med et enormt stort udvalg af spændende podcasts. Podimo formår virkelig at lave godt indhold, der takler de lidt mere svære emner. At der så også er lydbøger oveni til en billig pris, gør at det er blevet min favorit app.
