In this episode of Inside New England Hoops, we sit down with Coach Lamar Reddicks, longtime head coach and athletic director at Milton Academy. Coach Reddicks gives us a season preview, a reflection on back-to-back standout seasons — a 2023 NEPSAC Class A title and a 2024 class with players at Harvard, Princeton, Purdue, and BC — and shares how he’s rebranding Milton basketball after that success.

New Hampton School

Happy to introduce our first season preview with Coach Gale and the NEPSAC AAA New Hampton Huskies. After losing their core, the Huskies re-loaded and are poised for a big season ahead.

Nicky Johnson

Conversation with Nicky Johnson, 4-year starting point guard and 2x captain at Wesleyan University. Nicky is Wesleyan’s all-time leader in assists and a 1,000-point scorer. During his career, he won a NESCAC championship and, in the 2024-25 season, led the nation’s #1 ranked Division III team to a 30–2 record and an NCAA Final Four appearance. Before Wesleyan, Nicky began his high school career playing basketball and football at BB&N, then repeated his sophomore year at The Rivers School, where he competed alongside high-level players and earned NEPSAC Class B Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Deerfield Academy

Conversation with Coach Connor Merrill of Deerfield Academy. Since joining Deerfield in ’22, Coach Merrill has sent 7 players to play college basketball in conferences such as the NESCAC, UAA and Liberty League. Before Deerfield, he spent 4 years as an assistant coach at Middlebury and 2 years as a graduate assistant coach at Springfield College. As a player, Coach Merrill completed a post-graduate year at Vermont Academy and then went on to play four years at Skidmore College where he gained a NABC Division 3 All Star selection, all Liberty League First Team, and all Liberty League Tournament Team.

Williston Northampton School

Conversation with Coach Ben Farmer - fresh off winning the NEPSAC Class A title with Williston Northampton. Head coach of Williston, with most recent graduates furthering their hoop careers at Hofstra, Iona, Tufts, and Central Connecticut. He's coached at Wesleyan University and the University of Hartford, after playing at Marist University and a postgraduate year at St Thomas More.
