Freedom from an ancient enmity with God

The most important thing about God that is missing today is that God’s love prevailed over his anger, but his anger needed to be satisfied and for this, his love needed to be proven.

Freedom from our expectations

Most of us have become, effectively, our own divinity, we have remade God in our image and decided that whatever we do, God should be there, if he exists at all, to rubber-stamp our every decision.

Freedom from a distant God

God is not limited by the words we encase him in, and he is not restricted by the assumptions we make about him. Distant or not, sooner or later, God turns up in our lives.

Freedom from wishful thinking

Being made in the image of God is not sufficient for us to love others, because of the problem of sin. The incredible creativity and uniqueness of human beings have never been a sufficient restraint for their desecration, diminishment, and destruction. Our creation was followed by our Fall.

Freedom from an abstract faith

Recipes are of no use unless you turn them into a meal. It is the same with the Christian life. We must get out of the recipe book into the kitchen.
