Farmington Museum "Lowrider Culture" : With Nathan Augustine & Scott Michlin

The Farmington Museum is hosting a special lowrider culture exhibit created in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution, featuring photography, videos, and locally owned lowrider cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and artwork from across New Mexico. Museum director Nathan Augustine explained that the exhibit highlights the deep cultural importance of lowriding, including themes of family, faith, friendship, and community pride. Local car clubs worked with the museum for over a year to help showcase some of New Mexico’s most famous lowrider vehicles, including a highly detailed Cadillac known as “Low Rider Heaven.” The exhibit has already drawn thousands of visitors and aims to bring together different communities while celebrating Hispanic and lowrider culture in the Four Corners region.  The exhibit runs through July 25 and includes special Saturday programs, demonstrations, and guest presentations connected to lowrider art and history
