The Joy of Being

In yogic philosophy the term Sat-chit-ananda—roughly translated as "being, truth/knowing, bliss." Or quite simply, the joy in knowing our true being. I’ve been mostly interested in the “chit” part because it translates to the “mind—heart,” where the mind rests in the heart as a servant and companion to the heart’s knowing or gnosis. The integration of the mind-heart provides the energetic ground, for our authentic nature begins to truly flourish. This is the “joy of being” that is our birthright. In this week's episode, I invite listeners to consider stepping into a deeper response—to drop deeper into life—to explore those open and closed parts of themselves, the triggers pinching off the life force in certain areas of ourselves, or in areas in our lives where we hold ourselves back, and why they are there. I also share about how trigger responses, or gestures, can actually serve as a type of a “numbing balm” of the personality—taking the form of a strategy to control, change, or withdraw…only touching the surface with a quick fix, but don’t allow us to actually go deeper into what remains unfelt under it, at the origin where unconscious energies and emotions maintain it. The Golden Thread

In today's episode, I am sharing about the power of somatic sensing circle, "The Golden Thread"--what it is and how it can serve as a type of transpersonal medicine. Many of us never developed the subtlies of self-awareness to allow us to best optimize the conditions, circumstances, and relationships in our lives, in ways that truly empower ourselves and others and to fully access our potential. At no fault of our own, many us inherited unconscious ways of operating, mostly shaped by controlling the conditions around us so we could survive--not necessarily to have fulfilling lives or relationships. And the thing is, part of us suspects there might be another way, but we just can't "see" what that is....so, we continue doing what we "know" even if it isn't producing the results we really desire and imagine possible. So what is the answer? You guessed it--developing the self-awareness, tools, and practices to begin to more fully harness your creative power and unfurl the conditioned mental and emotional overlays, to set your table for a whole new life, like no kidding. This awareness starts with recognizing all the incredible energy below the ground of the mind, held and often "stuck," or bound up, in your nervous system and bio-field. Somatic awareness practices allow you to begin to clear the energetic field of your nervous system, to make way for the new crops you want to plant, to have the room to grow and be harvested in your life.
