Ford Prefect (proper noun) A roguishly charming, if somewhat erratic, galactic hitchhiker and field researcher for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Ford Prefect, despite his Earthly-sounding name, is not from Earth at all but hails from a small planet somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse. He has a remarkable knack for surviving improbable situations, a profound disdain for Vogon poetry, and an almost obsessive relationship with his towel.

10. HHGttG | Marvin

Marvin (proper noun) Also known as Marvin the Paranoid Android, Marvin is a highly intelligent, exceedingly depressed, and chronically underappreciated robot designed by the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation. Though technically an android, Marvin is best known for his unparalleled pessimism, immense intellect, and his ability to make even the most dire situations seem a thousand times worse.

Whale (noun) A large, aquatic mammal typically found on the planet Earth, known for its massive size, graceful swimming, and profound lack of preparedness for sudden, unexpected existence in mid-air.

Fluff (noun) A light, airy, and seemingly inconsequential substance that can be found just about anywhere in the galaxy. Fluff, while often dismissed as trivial, has a curious knack for appearing in the most unexpected places and playing surprisingly pivotal roles in the universe's grand scheme of things.
