Title: Reflections on the Sunday Gospel: How to More Fully Live Out Your Relationship with God Author: Pope Francis Narrator: Mark Deakins Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 7 hours 8 minutes Release date: November 1, 2022 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: Pope Francis illuminates a new, vibrant way of experiencing the Gospel through moving, intimate, and deeply meditative reflections. We live in an unprecedented time that has threatened to upend our daily rhythms, our work, our homes, even our faith. More than ever, we need books like Reflections on the Sunday Gospel to stir us to hope, to comfort, to peace. We need to remember what we live for and how good God is. These reflections—published in English for the first time, drawn both from homilies given by Pope Francis and readings from the Fathers of the Church, including Saint Augustine, Saint Jerome, and Saint Ambrose—do more than offer a way to enter into the liturgical year with weekly readings to enrich your devotional time. They offer Christ, and the power of His resurrection. They offer His words of assurance: “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (Jn 16:33, ESV). Ultimately, as Pope Francis guides us through these timeless words, we glean how even the giants of the faith needed God as much as we do, and how we can draw near to a good and faithful God no matter where we are or what season we’re in.

Title: Four Views on Heaven Series: Part of Counterpoints: Bible and Theology Author: Zondervan Narrator: Brian Russell Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 7 hours 39 minutes Release date: January 18, 2022 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: Discover Different Christian Views on What Heaven Will Be Like Christians from a variety of denominations and traditions are in middle of an important conversation about the final destiny of the saved. Scholars such as N. T. Wright and J. Richard Middleton have pushed back against the traditional view of heaven, and now some Christians are pushing back against them for fear that talk about the earthiness of our final hope distracts our attention from Jesus. In the familiar Counterpoints format, Four Views on Heaven brings together a well-rounded discussion and highlights similarities and differences of the current views on heaven. Each author presents their strongest biblical case for their position, followed by responses and a rejoinder that model a respectful and irenic tone toward those with whom they disagree. Positions and contributors include: - Heaven: John S. Feinberg. This traditional view says our destiny is to leave earth and live forever in heaven where we will rest, worship, and serve God. We cannot say much about what heaven is like because its pleasures and glory will far surpass anything experienced here. We will be perfect in every way, both morally and in our knowledge. This heavenly vision may seem boring, but only because we are considering heaven from our earthly perspective. - Earth: J. Richard Middleton. This position counters the popular Platonic notion of heaven by emphasizing that the saved will live forever with Jesus on this restored planet. Worshiping Jesus will be the climax of our experience, but we will also enjoy ordinary human activities in our redeemed state. - Heavenly Earth: Michael Allen. Increasing number of Protestant theologians disagree with the otherworldly Platonic vision of our final destiny but also suspect that Kuyperians have swung too far in the other direction. His view sounds like a Protestant version of the beatific vision. We will be on earth, but totally locked into Jesus in unceasing praise. This view seeks to highlight both the strengths and weaknesses of the heavenly and earthly views. - Roman Catholic Beatific Vision: Peter Kreeft. The beatific vision is the ultimate direct self communication of God to the individual. A person possessing the beatific vision reaches, as a member of redeemed humanity in the communion of saints, perfect salvation in its entirety, i.e. heaven. The notion of vision stresses the intellectual component of salvation, though it encompasses the whole of human experience of joy, happiness coming from seeing God finally face-to-face and not imperfectly through faith. The Counterpoints series provides a forum for comparison and critique of different views on issues important to Christians. Counterpoints books address two categories: Church Life and Bible and Theology. Complete your library with other books in the Counterpoints series.

episode Gospel-Driven Ministry Audio Study: An Introduction to the Calling and Work of a Pastor by Jared C. Wilson artwork

Gospel-Driven Ministry Audio Study: An Introduction to the Calling and Work of a Pastor by Jared C. Wilson

Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/442849 [https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/442849] to listen full audiobooks. Title: Gospel-Driven Ministry Audio Study: An Introduction to the Calling and Work of a Pastor Author: Jared C. Wilson Narrator: Jared Wilson Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 3 hours 8 minutes Release date: December 14, 2021 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: The Zondervan Reflective Audio Study series provides a unique audio learning experience. Unlike a traditional audiobook's direct narration of a book's text, Gospel-Driven Ministry Audio Study include high-quality live recordings in which the author teaches the content of the book, discusses important points, and introduces additional sources. The end result is an engaging audio study focused on learning. From the beginning of his ministry, Jesus called and equipped individuals who would serve his community of followers. These 'shepherds' are called to preach, pray, and care for the needs of God's people. But what does it mean to be a pastor? And what is the nature of this ministry, according to the Bible? In these 10 audio lectures, Jared Wilson begins by looking at the qualifications for the pastorate, addressing the notion of a call to ministry and how an individual--and a church community--can best identify the marks of maturity and affirm a call. Then, he examines eight core practices of pastoral ministry, including: - Preaching Sermons - Developing a Vibrant Prayer Life - Caring and Counseling - Pastoring Married and Single - Gospel-Centered Leadership - Fighting Sin and Spiritual Warfare - Resolving Conflict - Passing on the Ministry to Others In addition, Wilson provides practical resources including theological insights on baptism and the Lord's Supper, guidance for wedding and funeral sermons, outlines for leading elder and deacon meetings, tips for interviewing new pastors, questions to ask at ordination, and advice on knowing when and how to leave a pastor role. This is a comprehensive, practical study on pastoral ministry that prepares new pastors and equips those currently serving for long-term, healthy ministry.

episode Psalms: Audio Bible Studies: An Ancient Challenge to Get Serious About Your Prayer and Worship by Sandra L. Richter, Phd artwork

Psalms: Audio Bible Studies: An Ancient Challenge to Get Serious About Your Prayer and Worship by Sandra L. Richter, Phd

Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/442863 [https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/442863] to listen full audiobooks. Title: Psalms: Audio Bible Studies: An Ancient Challenge to Get Serious About Your Prayer and Worship Author: Sandra L. Richter, Phd Narrator: Sandra L. Richter Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 3 hours 19 minutes Release date: June 22, 2021 Genres: Christianity Publisher's Summary: This eight-session study of the Book of Psalms masterfully mixes scholarly and practical teaching of one of the most well-read wisdom Books. Sandra Richter’s pedagogy offers every modern reader the scaffolding they cannot bring to the table themselves and introduces the people of God today to their ancestors in the faith in a cross-cultural-experience kind of way. The key overall messages of this study is what the Book of Psalms is (the hymnbook of ancient Israel), how it was utilized in Israelite worship (the various “forms” of the Psalms), the concrete realities of Israelite worship (the tabernacle, temple, priesthood, and sacrifice) as well as Israel’s theology of worship (wrapped up in their theocratic world view), and why the Book of Psalms remains critical to our devotional lives today. There will be numerous connections to contemporary worship and devotional practices and focus on a few psalms that have become “classics” in the Christian world and need a deeper explanation. What makes my studies unique is that I am a scholar … who was a pastor. As a result, I am able to do the “heavy lifting” for my audiences, but deeply sensitive to issues of engagement and the  “so what?” part of the equation.

En fantastisk app med et enormt stort udvalg af spændende podcasts. Podimo formår virkelig at lave godt indhold, der takler de lidt mere svære emner. At der så også er lydbøger oveni til en billig pris, gør at det er blevet min favorit app.
