The transition back to life was a bit rocky, but not nearly as bad as it has been in the past. In the past, I wouldn't know what to do with the angst that often comes from moving from one phase to another. But I know better now. It's just transition discomfort and it's normal. Sometimes it happens going from unstructured to structured. And it can even happen going from structured to structured.  * It's normal to feel unsettled when shifting from one activity to another sometimes. * What to do: 1. Recognize your in a transition  2. Remind yourself that nothing has gone wrong 3. Ask yourself, "Now what?" * Part of "Now what" is to identify structure within the transition or the structure in your upcoming activity. In this episode, I specifically discuss how GROSS I look as a person from only reading doctor's notes from past appointments. Seriously, THAT IS NOT ME.  I also see that my approach to doctor's appointments has been leaving incorrect impressions of myself and my health. I used to approach doctor's appointments as: get right to the point. Here is the problem. What do you think? Don't waste their time!!  Not Anymore. They get to see the happy, smilely Heidi AND her problems. Yes, I may take more of their time, but I won't be leaving impressions that I am living an awful life of suffering. Because I'm not. Listen in to hear the revelation that surfaced and maybe a revelation of your own will surface for you.  Take Aways * NEW support coming!! Stay tuned. * Trent and I found out that my medical clearance did not come through. * Made and received phone calls to try and get the right information to the right people. * In pondering and considering doctor's notes, I realized that none of the notes referred to my brother passing away or my mom passing away.  * These two events happened within 4 months of each other and shortly after moving here.  * Although a doctor noticed that I was struggling with my brother's passing and she advised me to seek counseling, his death is not in her notes.  * Looking back, their deaths were greatly impacting all areas of my life and I was seeking relief from grief and anger due to their passing. I did not realize those were major factors in my emotions at the time. * I didn't bring those up very much to doctors or health professionals. I thought my struggles were due to pmdd and other life circumstances. * We might miss things that are affecting our emotional state that we can see later. * What revelations might be waiting for you to discover from your past? What To Do When Your Routines Are Thrown Off

We all know the feeling... things are going great and then BAM. Something happens that makes interrupts your smooth sailing. Maybe it's an interruption of  your usual self-care routines. Maybe a loved one is sick and needs your care and support. Whatever the disruption, I have a process to help you FEEL GROUNDED in those moments. It leads you to getting back on track whether that means backtracking or continuing "off-track."  Listen in for my 3 Rs to feeling grounded when disruption or interruption happens. This is a simple, 3-step process to follow. You can write the 3 Rs on a notecard and post it around your house if you want to apply this often. The 3 Rs: Recognize. Reassure. Resolve.  Take Aways: 1. Recognize that you're being interrupted or disrupted 2. Reassure yourself. "It's okay. Things like this happen sometimes." Add a deep breath if you're feeling a build-up of emotion (irritation, frustration, anger, etc.) 3. Resolve. Choose that you will back-track and do things as planned OR that you will continue off-track allowing the interruption. Then decide when/how you will get back to your routine, your project, your priorities... whatever is being disrupted at the moment.  *You may need help through life disruptions.
