A dedicated leader within the NAACP, Mrs. Craft was a force in the battle for desegregation, equitable healthcare, and the rights of African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, and the LGBTQIA community. Her home became a haven for prominent figures—from U.S. presidents and civil rights leaders to jazz greats and opera stars—as well as countless Black travelers seeking safety and solidarity in a segregated America. In this episode, Anietie talks with Kendall Ferguson who delves into Mrs. Craft's extraordinary contributions, the significance of the Craft House, and the overlooked yet essential role of Black women in the civil rights movement.
