Episode 4: Mental Health Struggles & Faith

Mental health is one of the most important and misunderstood conversations in our generation, especially for women. Depression, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, intrusive thoughts, and burnout are not signs of weak faith. Research consistently shows that mental health conditions are influenced by biological, psychological, hormonal, and social factors. Women in particular face unique stressors across the lifespan, from adolescence to caregiving years, that shape their mental well-being. At the same time, Scripture does not ignore emotional suffering. The Bible gives us honest accounts of distress, fear, discouragement, and even despair. In 1 Kings 19, Elijah experiences deep emotional collapse after intense stress, and God responds not with rebuke, but with rest, nourishment, and gentle presence. This narrative reflects a compassionate, holistic model of care. In this episode, we explore: * What mental health truly is from a research perspective * Why women are disproportionately affected * The difference between intrusive thoughts and agreement with destructive beliefs * What it means to “take thoughts captive” without denying real pain * How faith and evidence-based care can work together * How to struggle without surrendering to lies Mental illness is not automatically demonic. But not every thought is harmless. Discernment and compassion can coexist. Healing does not mean pretending you are fine. It means seeking support, renewing the mind gently, and refusing to build identity around deception. You are allowed to seek therapy. You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to heal. This conversation is an invitation to approach mental health with maturity, empathy, and hope, grounded in both truth and grace. #Faith #health #women #christianwomen #teens #fyp #radio

episode Episode 3: Healing: A Restoring Journey | Whole-Person Reset artwork

Episode 3: Healing: A Restoring Journey | Whole-Person Reset

What does healing really mean? Is it just physical recovery… or something deeper? In this episode, we explore healing through both Scripture and research. Jesus asked, “Do you want to be made whole?” (John 5:6). That question reminds us that healing is not just about symptoms disappearing, it is about restoration of the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Drawing from biblical stories (Luke 5:17–26; Luke 13:10–13) and qualitative research on healing journeys (Scott et al., 2017; Firth et al., 2015), we unpack how healing is often not linear. It can unfold in fits and starts, through connection, hope, reframing, and faith, even when illness or struggle remains. We also discuss: • Physical healing and miracles • Emotional and spiritual restoration • Why healing is not weakness • The role of safe relationships and support • How faith and action work together Healing is not denial. Healing is not pretending everything is fine. Healing is cooperating with God’s restoring work. You are not broken beyond repair. Listen now and begin your journey toward wholeness. #healing #mentalhealth #womenhealth #faith #publichealth

episode Episode 2: Whole, Not Broken artwork

Episode 2: Whole, Not Broken

Have you ever felt like parts of your life are holding together… but not fully aligned? In this episode of Making Her Whole, we talk about what it really means to be whole, not perfect, not flawless, not “finished”, but integrated. Wholeness is about connection. Mind. Body. Emotions. Spirit. What affects one part of you affects the whole. Many women feel fragmented, not because they are broken, but because the systems around them often fail to support their full health. From delayed diagnoses to emotional burdens and social pressures, research shows that women’s health is deeply affected by both biological and social realities. But here’s the deeper question: When Jesus asked, “Do you want to be made whole?” (John 5:6), He wasn’t only offering physical healing, He was inviting restoration of the whole person. In this episode, we explore: • What wholeness really means • Why it’s not the same as perfection • How health disparities affect women • How faith sustains us when systems don’t change • And how believing you are worthy of care is the first step toward walking in wholeness You don’t have to be fully healed to be whole. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. Wholeness starts with believing, and taking one step forward. 🎧 Listen now and share with a woman who needs this reminder. #faith #women #womenhealth #publichealth #health #2026

episode Episode 1: Making Her Whole | Why Health and Faith Belong Together artwork

Episode 1: Making Her Whole | Why Health and Faith Belong Together

What if health and faith were never meant to be separate? In this first episode of Making Her Whole, Princesse Embankana introduces the vision behind the podcast, helping women understand health as wholeness, not just the absence of illness. Drawing from public health research and biblical truth, this episode explores why women experience wellness differently and why caring for the body, mind, emotions, and spirit is an act of stewardship, not selfishness. This episode sets the foundation for honest conversations about women’s health, faith, and everyday practices that support whole-person well-being. 🎧 New episodes weekly.
