Meditations With James Arheghan
In today’s episode of Meditations, we reflect on Paul’s warning in Colossians 2:8: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Paul reminds us that a believer can be captured without physical chains. Wrong ideas, empty philosophies, human traditions, and worldly systems can quietly take hold of the mind and lead the heart away from Christ. This episode encourages us to guard our minds, test every belief by the Word of God, and ensure that our values, choices, and lifestyle are truly “after Christ.” Key Thoughts Not every popular idea is godly. Not every deep-sounding philosophy is true. Not every tradition is biblical. Not every cultural value agrees with Christ. The real question for every believer is: Is this after Christ? Reflection Questions What ideas have been shaping your mind lately? Are your convictions coming more from Scripture or from the culture around you? Is there any tradition, habit, or belief in your life that needs to be submitted to Christ? How can you become more intentional about guarding your heart and mind? Prayer Focus Pray for discernment to recognize deception. Ask God to renew your mind through His Word. Pray for the courage to reject every philosophy, tradition, and worldly system that is not after Christ. Declaration My mind belongs to Christ. My values are shaped by the Word of God.I will not be carried away by empty philosophies or worldly systems. My life is built after Christ.
