To be happy or to be miserable, the effort's the same

In this episode, I delve into my overall outlook on life which states: "to be happy or to be miserable, the effort is truly the same."  The amount of effort required to possess either mindset is essentially the same. It takes the same amount of effort to choose to be happy about life's less-than-favorable circumstances just as similarly as it is to paradoxically choose to be miserable.  I re-iterate the importance of altering the way we choose to perceive life's day-day-day obstacles, challenges and plans that tend to go awry with this simple mindset.  Choose to intentionally be happy anyways.  Pay less attention to the outside world and its constant downfalls.  Pay less attention to other people and remain inside your locus of control with this reminder.  Choosing to be happy is a decision you can make regardless of what the external world throws at you. And further than that, STOP attaching your happiness to anything or anyone else aside from yourself. Once you de-tach your internal happiness from the outside world, you're effectively preventing yourself from falling at the mercy of other people and events you have zero control over.  To be happy or to be miserable, the effort will always be the same so choose wisely if you want to feel free from the world around you. Building consistency: your thoughts & habits shape your identity

In this episode, I discuss my viewpoint on how to best build consistency within your daily routine. From the small tasks to the bigger tasks, your habits will justifiably determine your self-identity and will shape the reality in which you live your everyday life altogether.  How you do one thing will always dictate how you do everything in your life. Just about everything you do or seek to accomplish invariably emanates from the habits entrenched in your lifestyle--but above all else, this starts in your mind and how you speak to yourself regularly.  I emphasize the importance of the phrases "left foot, right foot" and what I mean by it when I state it in terms of its relevance to building consistency one step at a time amongst all the goals you set out for yourself to achieve--small to big.  I additionally enumerate the expression, "You are what you repeat" as a way to express that who you are and who you want to become is framed by what you repeat every single day, unconsciously or not. More specifically, the repetition that circulates your thought patterns, how these repetitive thoughts, actions, and behaviors precipitate the array of habits sprinkled amongst your life.  Keeping this notion in mind is deeply beneficial for how effectively you can begin to implement better habits.  I focus on the importance of consciously understanding and taking control over your thought patterns since they cumulatively shape your habits, your mindset, and your identity.  Narrowing in on who you want to BECOME is invaluable to changing the paradigm of your life, as long as you wish to do so.  Once you recognize that changing the habits in your life START and BEGIN constitutionally in your mind and your thought patterns, then you will equally begin to recognize that the repetition of your thoughts directly affects your habits and the world around you.  The execution is simple but the mastery is a lifelong practice.  Move with Michela Instagram: https://instagram.com/movewithmichelapod?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= [https://instagram.com/movewithmichelapod?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=]

Moving through seasons of singleness; How to fall in love with your solitude

In this episode, I talk about the importance of finding your flow within yourself and making use of your time spent alone. I delve into the topic of singleness and discuss how vital it is to be complete, whole, and fulfilled on your own before entering any romantic relationship. Additionally, I explain that showing up for yourself whilst embracing your solitude is the foolproof antidote to feeling fully whole on your own when you're in a season of singleness and independence.  I strongly emphasize the fact that I think we feel most alone when we are disconnected from ourselves and this is when we essentially become strangers to ourselves.  I hone in on the distinction between the identity statement "I am lonely" and how it vastly differs from the statement "I am experiencing feelings of loneliness." I delve into the mindset shift here that I believe will help encourage you to remove the negative thought process of feeling lonely momentarily and allow yourself to utilize your alone time much more effectively.  The end goal here should never be hyper-fixated on this craving to be in a relationship. This obsession creates an unhealthy and unrealistic expectation that someone else will complete and fulfill you which will simply take away from that relationship's potential altogether. And instead, learn how to properly do that for yourself first and foremost so you can formulate authentic connections that are devoid of attachment and codependency.  By doing so, you'll receive the plentiful benefits of your own solitude before and sustain this while you're part of any relationship in your life's trajectory. Don't panic if you’re in a season of singleness. Instead, love and embrace the season of life you're currently in and love yourself where you are presently.  Work towards filling yourself up in everything in your life and make sure it emanates from a loving place within yourself. Don’t be fooled, none of us know what we’re doing; combatting imposter syndrome & the decade of your 20s

In today’s episode, I talk about my viewpoint on imposter syndrome, more indicatively during the seasons where you may find yourself feeling as though you simply do not have a single clue what you’re doing in whichever phase of your journey you’re currently on.  But from my perspective, I’ve learned that most of us don’t always have the greatest idea as to what we’re doing, trajectory-wise, especially many who are experiencing the confusing decade of our 20s, like myself. When you make a distinct choice to take a leap and change your direction, oftentimes what follows the change is immense fear,  discomfort and self-doubt.  Something I emphasize in this episode is that really monumental change is almost always catalyzed by a feeling of discontent with where you’re currently at rather than a feeling of positive inspiration.  The scariest part of feeling like you don’t know what you’re doing right now and feeling unqualified as you set out on your ever-changing path is typically because we don’t have any of the answers. And all we have are countless questions about what’s next and where we’re going.  None of us really know the answers UNTIL we know the answers as we create our own blueprint.  You’re not alone if you feel this way so I hope this episode reminds you that wherever you are on your current path, just keep moving through it. Feeling unqualified is temporary, feeling confused is temporary but reminding yourself that we’re all experiencing these feelings at one point or another may be the push you need to keep going. It’s the simple fact that you’re still going that matters most, and the questions and uncertainty will start to be answered all on their own. Do everything that terrifies you; growth and comfort cannot coexist

In today’s episode, I talk about my belief surrounding how growth and comfort simply cannot coexist. I strongly emphasize that the only true way to achieve growth is by doing absolutely everything that terrifies you, no matter how big or small the fear may be.  Just do it scared.  I expand on some key moments in my life where I walked straight into my fears and what this looked like for me personally.  Your fears are likely ones you’ve created as a figment of your own imagination. And on the other side of those fears is a future version of yourself who has fulfilled endless amounts of growth IN SPITE OF said fears.  Throughout the chapters in my life, I have revealed to myself that my growth could only ever be followed by large amounts of discomfort. Once I started walking into my fears and welcomed the discomfort, I allowed myself the space to experience more opportunities where I could effectively grow and consequently, those fears ceased to existed. And that’s precisely when and where the abundance of self-growth fully unlocks.  Force yourself to venture outside of the cushy walls you’ve created as your comfort zone.  Fly so far outside of that comfort zone so much so that you no longer identify with it.
