Dedicated to help those that are considering an ostomy, already had an ostomy or need to support someone that has gone through the process. We'll follow the journey of Lindsey and Hernando in the after effects of surgery, as they plan for new milestones. We'll have casual conversations where we share our experiences, our fears, and how we have overcome them. Lindsey will share her views and fears as a wife, and Hernando his views as an @ostomate_husband. As you obtain relief from the disease that debilitated you for so long, you will quickly and greatly realize, "My Bag is My Best Friend!"

In this episode Lindsey goes through HER fears, describing the struggles and the considerations that went through her mind as she made the decision to go for the Ostomy. This is the first part of the HER/HIS Fear episodes. An emotional listen of many of the fears that can go through your mind as you consider this life changing surgery.

The Last Biologic and Starting to Explore Surgery

Today's episode will be released on May 4th, for those Star Wars fans, "may the forth be with you" As you know by now the 4th of each month is a special day for us, as it marks another month since August 4th, which was the date of the surgery. We want to take a moment to thank all our supporters, it really means a lot. We ask that you follow, subscribe and rate, and most importantly share with those that might benefit from listening to our journey. Additionally we want to make you aware of UM's Ostomy Support Group and their monthly webminars. This month the topic is "Tips for Traveling with an Ostomy". The first Tuesday of each month UM will host a webminar in English and will also host one in Spanish the third Tuesday of the month. Today's episode is a bit longer as we discuss the last biologic, Estilara, the results and time for the next step.

After going through 3 sets of biologics, the outlook seemed bleek. It was time to start looking into the surgery that would cure me of the disease. In this episode we discuss those discussions, and the visit to the surgeon.
