My Spiritual Side
When Imogen Bailey moved to Hollywood to pursue her acting dreams - she had no idea it would lead her down a divergent path - that would ultimately become her true calling. In between casting calls, the actor, former bikini model and reality TV star was invited to join a women’s circle. It was there, surrounded by women she'd never met - that for the first time, she felt completely accepted for who she was - not for her looks, her achievements or the magazine covers she'd appeared on. Imogen went on to become a women’s circle facilitator, creating spaces for women to heal, connect and feel truly seen - like she was. She’s also a birth and end-of-life doula, supporting people through two of life's most sacred transitions. In this episode of My Spiritual Side, Imogen shares her transformation from seeking external validation - to “coming home” to herself (as she puts it), what multiple miscarriages taught her about surrender, and how becoming a mother at 43 deepened her gratitude. Highlights from this episode: • Imogen shares her go-to spiritual practices: walks in nature, prayer, meditation, gratitude and birdsong to calm her mind, especially during perimenopause • How becoming a mother at 43 taught her to be grounded and ‘zen’ • Her journey from seeking external validation as a model, actor and reality TV star to cultivating self-worth from within • Why she believes the female body is sacred • How chasing her dreams in Hollywood ultimately led her to finding herself • How discovering women's circles became a catalyst for profound personal growth - and why they help women feel seen, understood and less alone • The common struggles women share: loneliness, difficulty setting boundaries and the belief, ”I'm not enough" • How to build self-worth, quiet the inner critic and recognise that you are not your thoughts • What infertility and multiple miscarriages taught her about surrender • What inspired her to become a birth and death doula, the profound similarities between these sacred transitions, and how "coming home" to herself enables her to better serve others Key Quotes “I was running away from myself then I realised I had to face myself to get to the next part of my life”. "I felt like for the first time I was completely accepted. Nobody cared what my last job was or what my next job would be." "Recognise that you are not your thoughts. The only antidote to negative thoughts is to start saying to yourself, 'I'm worthy, I'm loved, I'm safe.'" "This is the abyss. I can't fix this. There's no magic pill, there's no chant, there's no prayer. I have to completely surrender." "Coming home to myself enables me to serve others”.
