Best known for his encyclopedic knowledge of the media and entertainment industry there's not much Paul can't tell us about his profession. Paul began his career at London Weekend Television in the 80s as a researcher and producer working on numerous programmes including The Six O'Clock Show. He became a regular face on British TV from the 90s onwards, appearing on many programmes including The Big Breakfast and Sky One's Jeopardy! game show. He also made regular appearances on This Morning as their showbiz correspondent. He's been involved in radio since the late 90s presenting numerous shows on stations such as GLR, Virgin Radio, LBC and BBC Radio London (where he presented the Breakfast show with the likes of Jo Good, Gaby Roslin and Penny Smith. He launched the new talkRADIO with his Full Set Breakfast programme in March 2016. He now presents the overnight show, Extra Time with Paul Ross, on talkSPORT during the week, a show that's also simulcast on their sister station Talk, In this episode Paul rummages through his illustrious career to pull out some really cool names, the chat also gets a little geeky about radio and we find out what makes a really good TV presenter. ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. Martin Kelner joins Watko to do a spot of name dropping and talks about his new life as an influencer, podcaster, content creator and cult leader. Martin is best known for his witty columns in numerous national newspapers, his humour filled radio programmes and his regular blockbuster appearances on BBC 5 Live’s award winning Fighting Talk. He’s worked as a broadcaster for almost half a century at numerous radio stations across the UK including the likes of BBC Radio 2, LBC, TalkSPORT, BBC Radio Leeds, JAZZ FM and Hallam FM (the latter being where his career as a presenter began). Martin has gained a reputation not only as a unique talent in his own right, but he’s also been a great supporter of others over the years and has given many household names their first opportunities in showbusiness. A talent-spotting guru! He has also written three best selling books, When Will I Be Famous?, Sit Down and Cheer and Wrestling in Honey. Martin has always been an innovator and got involved in podcasting in its infancy creating The Piss Poor Podcast with his ever present sidekick Edouard Lapaglia. Iain Lee joins Watko to talk about his top three name drops and explains why he's bringing back the 11 O'Clock Show. Best known for his bold, funny and often unpredictable appearances on TV and radio, Iain blurs the line between comedy, confession and chaos. A true broadcasting one off. He first became a household name in the late 90s as the host of Channel 4's 11 O'Clock Show, since then he has featured on many shows including RI:SE, Thumb Bandits and Cats Make You Laugh Out Loud. Alongside his extensive TV career he also forged an unforgettable career in UK radio, featuring on XFM, LBC, Absolute Radio and TalkRADIO. Iain is now a qualified counsellor and works with adults to help with all manner of issues from mental health to addiction, but also continues to create engaging content for his legion of fans and does a podcast with his partner Katherine Boyle called 'Too Many Cats'.
