1 John 2:1–6

1 John 2:12–14

In 1 John 2:12–14, John pauses from a series of commands to remind every believer of three foundational truths about their identity in Jesus. These three truths speak to every season of the Christian life—whether you're new to faith and wrestling with guilt, in a mature season where spiritual routines have replaced genuine closeness with God, or in the middle of an intense battle with temptation and sin, John has something important to say to you. Identity always comes before activity, and when you know who you are in Christ, you can move forward with clarity and purpose.

1 John 2:7–11

We live in a world that uses the word love for everything from wedding vows to queso. But the love John writes about in 1 John 2:7–11 is something different entirely. It's unconditional. It's self-sacrificing. And it's one of the clearest signs that the light of Christ is actually real in your life. When the light of Christ is real in you, the love of Christ becomes visible through you. So here's the question Pastor Coleman leaves us with: Is it visible through you?

1 Corinthians 1:4–9

As a believer, you have been given a gift so extravagant that its value is beyond anything you could imagine. God's grace provides everything you need to follow him, sustains you through every season of life, and assures you that you are his. It is a gift you could never earn and never deserve, yet it fills your heart with thankfulness. Because God is faithful, you can trust his promises and wait with hope-filled expectation for Christ’s return.

Proverbs 18:21

God is a speaking God who created everything through his voice, bringing order from chaos and purpose from emptiness. Being made in his image, you are invited to participate in this divine act of speaking life into existence. Finding your voice begins with coming to Jesus for heart transformation, allowing him to shape your unique voice through life's circumstances, and then faithfully using your voice for his glory.

1 John 2:1–6

What do you do when guilt weighs heavy on your heart after sinning? Do you readily confess to God through Christ, or do you try to manage and hide your sin while spiraling deeper into poor decisions? First John 2:1-6 reveals that believers don't have to linger in guilt or try to manage their sin alone. You have a righteous advocate who stands with you and an atoning sacrifice whose blood covers every sin. Stop lingering in guilt and start living in grace. What sin are you trying to manage instead of confessing?
