Today we're stepping inside the Montgomery Cancer Center in Prattville, Alabama, a place where courage meets compassion, where healing begins, and where hope is offered every single day. At the heart of so much of that hope is one unforgettable man: Dr. Robert Avery.
Dr. Avery is known for his remarkable skill and compassionate care. But he also understands something powerful, healing often comes through laughter too. Because sometimes hope arrives through wise words. Sometimes through excellent care. And sometimes… through sky blue socks covered in bright yellow rubber chickens.
Today, I want to share the story of a doctor who understood that medicine treats the body, while humor and hope help strengthen the heart.
For me, this story is personal. Dr. Avery stood beside me in my own battle with leukemia, offering truth, courage, and hope when I needed it most.
So today, we celebrate a man who brings healing, humor, and hope to countless lives.
This is the story of Dr. Robert Avery, a man of humor and hope.
