Triple gold for NZ with Lydia Ko, Hamish Kerr, and Dame Lisa Carrington

New Zealand uniforms are now black, white and gold after Dame Lisa Carrington, Lydia Ko and Hamish Kerr win gold medals on a thrilling day of Olympic action. Gold, gold, gold. New Zealand now has nine Olympic gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, breaking the record of eight set at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. It comes after a thrilling night of Olympic action in which Dame Lisa Carrington won her third gold medal of these Games, in the K1 500m, future dame Lydia Ko won the women's golf tournament, and Hamish Kerr won the men's high jump. Double gold in Paris in kayaking and track cycling

New Zealand wins double gold overnight, in the K4 500m on the water, and Ellesse Andrews dominated the women's keirin. New Zealand has won two gold medals and a bronze at the Olympic Games overnight. Ellesse Andrews won the women's Keirin at the velodrome in a dominant final performance. Andrews adds to the silver medal she won in the women's team sprint earlier in the week. She's now an Olympic and World Champion in the format. And the women's K4 500m team won New Zealand's fourth gold medal of the Paris Games. The team of Dame Lisa Carrington, Alicia Hoskin, Olivia Brett and Tara Vaughan held off Germany and Hungary to claim the gold medal, the sixth gold medal of Dame Lisa's Olympic career. Sailors Erica Dawson and Micah Wilkinson, have also won Olympic bronze in the Nacra mixed multihull in Marseille. They finished 8th in their medal race, which was enough to promote them into the bronze medal position. Team pursuit women claim silver at the velodrome

Silver for New Zealand in the women's team pursuit at the velodrome, while we're looking ominous in kayak sprints and high jump. The team pursuit silver medal winners at the velodrome say they're proud to finish second to a very strong United States team in the final. New Zealand were just 0.6 seconds back from the Americans after a strong finish to the final, but the US led from start to finish. The team of Ally Woolaston, Bryony Botha, Emily Shearman and Nicole Shields is very young for an international pursuit team, and is still seen as developing their skills. Hamish Kerr also caused some nervy moments to fans in the high jump, but eventually qualified for the final. And kayak sprinters Dame Lisa Carrington and Aimee Fisher look in fine fettle ahead of their finals.
