Description

Episode 374 features Brad Cox of the Mouthful of Graffiti podcast and Skitzo Calypso. Brad is a longtime veteran of the Baltimore music scene and just like me he has been supporting local musicians through his podcast for years. I am excited to have him back on the bill for PTR Fest this year with his full band performing at 7pm on Saturday July 18th at Fish Head Cantina. It is going to be a great time and if you are in the area, we hope you can make it out. In our conversation we talked about everything he is doing in the music scene including Mouthful of Graffiti Live at REB Records in Bel Air which is now a quarterly event featuring local artists and live podcast recordings. We also name dropped a bunch of our friends in the scene including Will Sims and Rachel Novak who are both hosting their own local music podcasts. On this episode I featured Brads track Achamoth Its in the Way by Skitzo Calypso. If you like it you can stream it wherever you like to find music. Thanks for listening and supporting local music. Check out Mouthful of Graffiti Podcast and Skits Calypso for more content.            Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

Episode 373: LJR [PTR FEST EPISODE] [POP ARTIST] [WASHINGTON DC]

Episode 373 features LJR (Luke Justin Roberts), a longtime friend of mine and a local DMV pop musician. He’s playing July 18 at PTR Fest at Fish Head Cantina at 530PM, so I wanted to bring him back on the show. He’s been on the podcast too many times to count and is the most regular guest we’ve ever had. He’s releasing new music, and I featured his latest track “Follow the Mother Home” which you can stream wherever you listen to music. In the episode, we talked about LJR creative (Luke’s video business), what it’s like being a frontman and solo musician, some local gossip about The Slang, Montana, and much more. Thanks for listening and supporting local music!    “Show People” — our recent music video of a Frank Turner cover Watch here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1htWtD1FOE]           Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

Episode 372: The Slang (John & Felix) [Pop Rock] [Ohio/DMV]

Episode 372 features The Slang. Based in both Ohio and Maryland, The Slang is the brainchild of John and Felix, who have been releasing albums for many years now. They bring a very smooth, polished indie rock sound. Their full band will be featured at this year’s PTR Fest on July 18th at Fish Head Cantina, main stage at 6 PM. Get there early. They also have the honor of being formerly self-cancelled since their last appearance on the show. So John is back to tell the tale of the fallout. On the episode I featured their brand new track “lies, lies, lies” if you like you can stream it wherever you like.    Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

Episode 371: Gardenwalk (Alternative) [Catonsville, MD]

Episode 371 features Gardenwalk from Catonsville, Maryland. They are featured at this year’s 5th annual PTR Fest at Fish Head Cantina JULY 18 in Halethorpe, MD, just south of Baltimore. They will be hitting the stage at roughly 6pm so get there early! Gardenwalk channels melodic gaze-core, drawing from shoegaze, post-hardcore, and alternative. Their sound juxtaposes delicate vocals with atmospheric grit, balancing fragility with catharsis. They are currently in the process of writing new music and I featured a short snippet of one of their new demos called “Playlist for the Moon.” In the interview, I spoke with Shaina and Brad. We talked about starting a new band after playing in many bands over the years, the Baltimore music scene, and much more.     Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.
