About Priestess Initiations: Where Psychology Meets Sacred

We invite you to deepen into embodied goddess exploration through somatic psychology, Jungian philosophy, and archetypal mythology for holistic wellbeing, cyclical living, and healing the witch wound. Hosted by Casey Dunne—Somatic Psychotherapist and Priestess | MA in Mental Health Counseling: Body Psychotherapy | BA in Psychology with Jungian training—this podcast bridges psychology frameworks, reclaimed goddess mythology, and shadow integration with divine feminine intuitive wisdom for nervous system healing. In Season Two, we descend into the philosophical root system of the soul—leaning into Celtic mysticism, earth based spirituality and goddess archetypes, the medicine of herbalism, and the reclamation of our lineage through intergenerational healing, ancestral reclamation and ancient holistic healing including cyclical living for hormonal support.Whether you’re exploring individuation through archetypes, astrology, Human Design, folk witchcraft, the Akashic Records, tarot and divination, dark moon philosophy—or ready to go deeper into embodied shadow work—this is where spiritual inquiry of the soul meets grounded transformation. This isn't clinical therapy. It's holistic spiritual education and embodied shadow work for empowered women, witches, healers, and initiates walking the path of transformation on the maiden-mother-crone journey through descent, integration, and power reclamation. The path to collective healing—reclaiming a true alchemical balance of the masculine and feminine in the world, begins with our own descent into wholeness.Claim your power. Embody the goddess within. Trust the spiral.  | Join the conversation on Substack: caseydunne.substack.com | Website & Educational Resources: priestessinitiations.com

Chiron, Hygieia, and Tending Yourself in a System That Profits From Your Depletion | ST S2 Ep.11

Spontaneous Transmission: The mythology of the wounded healer — somatic psychotherapy, healer burnout, and what it actually means to tend yourself in a system designed to extract from you. If you’ve ever been the person everyone leans on, the one who can hold a crisis with calm hands while quietly falling apart inside, this one is for you. I’m taking you into the archetype of Chiron, the wounded healer, and asking the question that sits underneath so much caretaking: who holds the mantle when the healer is bleeding too? I tell Chiron’s myth as a mirror for modern healer life: rejection, difference, mastery earned the hard way, and the kind of chronic wound that won’t “positive mindset” itself away. From there, I name what so many systems try to keep hidden. Burnout isn’t just a self-care issue, and it isn’t a personal failure. Under patriarchy and extractive work culture, professions like nursing, teaching, therapy, and social work are asked to give endlessly while being structurally undervalued. When we keep the wound personal, the architecture stays untouched. Then I turn toward Hygia, the goddess of hygiene and maintenance, as the counterspell to the quick-fix fantasy. We talk about unglamorous daily tending, boundaries that actually protect your nervous system, and what it means to build a sustainable life inside real limits. With Uranus entering Gemini, I frame this as a longer arc: a seven-year re-write of what your wound means and how your limits can serve you, not cost you. If this lands, subscribe, share it with a fellow caretaker, and leave a review so more healers can find their way back to themselves. What boundary would change your life the most? episode Sedna — Betrayal, Descent, and Reclaiming Sovereign Boundaries | S2 Ep.10 artwork

Sedna — Betrayal, Descent, and Reclaiming Sovereign Boundaries | S2 Ep.10

Uranus-Sedna conjunction May 2026, patriarchal shadow, Jungian depth psychology, somatic psychoeducation, and the Inuit goddess myth that teaches women how to stop taking responsibility for what was never theirs Patriarchy is not being subtle right now, and neither is the shift I’m feeling in women’s bodies. When bodily autonomy gets legislated, when women’s pain gets dismissed in public, when power structures show us exactly who they were built for, something stops negotiating. A quieter kind of boundary appears: a line drawn in the sand that says, “I am done taking responsibility for what isn’t mine.” I take that collective moment into the myth of Sedna, the Inuit goddess of the deep ocean, holding her story with respect as a student of archetypal psychology. Sedna is betrayed, cut loose, and forced into a descent that looks like devastation, until it becomes transformation. Through a Jungian lens, her story mirrors the return of the repressed shadow: what was always operating in the dark gets dragged into the light so it can finally be named, faced, and changed. From there, I bring in somatic psychology and nervous system regulation, including the window of tolerance and a polyvagal-informed clinical map, because you cannot “mindset” your way out of what lives in tissue, breath, and posture. I also share why this week’s astrology matters to me: Sedna crossing into Gemini for decades and a rare Uranus conjunction that speaks to disruption, voice, and finally giving language to what the body has carried. We name the pathology of the good woman, the survival pattern of managing men’s emotions, and the difference between dysregulated discharge and sovereign directness. I end with a grounded practice you can use immediately: “I am not responsible for…” Goddess Astrology Mini Course [https://priestessinitiations.com/goddess-astrology-mapping-your-souls-journey] If this lands, share the episode with a woman who needs it, and leave a review so more listeners can find the work. What the Forest Knows: Attachment Wounds and the Truth About Scarcity | S2 Ep.9

Attachment theory, nervous system safety, and debunking scarcity mindset through the wisdom of the mycelium network and earth-based spirituality The “abundance is a frequency” line can sound comforting until you are living inside real financial pressure. Today we slow down and tell the truth: nervous system regulation matters, but it does not erase inflation, wage stagnation, housing costs, or the collapse of the safety nets our bodies evolved to expect. I name why some manifestation and money mindset messaging slips into spiritual bypassing, turning a structural crisis into a personal flaw. From there, I take a clinical turn into attachment theory and somatic therapy. What if a “scarcity mindset” is often an attachment wound wearing money’s clothes? When money becomes the stand-in for safety, shelter, food, and belonging, hyper independence can feel like the only sane strategy. But money is a terrible attachment figure. It cannot co regulate you, it cannot hold you through grief, and it cannot create earned secure attachment, which only happens through repeated relational experience of leaning and being met. Then we step outside with the trees. Forest ecologist Suzanne Simard’s work [https://bookshop.org/lists/tending-the-cycle-cyclical-living-earth-based-truths] on the wood wide web shows how mycelium networks connect trees, move nutrients and information, and support the forest through overflow and interdependence, not scorekeeping. I close with a simple, embodied practice: find a tree, root down, and ask what it knows about scarcity and trusting the network you cannot see. Hygieia — The Rebrand and The Witch Wound | ST S2 Ep.8

Spontaneous Transmission: The Archetype  of Hygieia for Cleansing The Temple of Soul and Psyche | Pluto Retrograde | Where Psychology Meets Sacred  Letting go of a beloved name can feel like losing a home and sometimes it’s the only way to finally live inside the truth. Today I’m recording in real time with snow falling outside and Pluto stationing retrograde in Aquarius overhead, a transit tied to platforms, community, and the shadow work of how we show up in public. What follows is a vulnerable rebrand reckoning: why I’m releasing “coven” from the subtitle, what I’m grieving, and why authenticity sometimes means doing less until the foundation is real. From there, I introduce Hygieia, the goddess of hygiene, prevention, and maintenance. We expand “hygiene” beyond showers and toothbrushes into spiritual hygiene and mental hygiene: clearing what you pick up from clients, conversations, the news, and social media, and learning to spot which thoughts are actually yours. This is nervous-system-friendly, sustainable work that supports somatic healing and helps you stop burning out from carrying what was never meant to be carried. I also name the witch wound and priestess wound: the embodied fear of being too visible, too integrated, too hard to categorize when you’re both a therapist and a priestess in the same breath. We talk Human Design (the 3-5 profile, trial-and-error wisdom, and projection fields), and why I’m moving from Patreon to Substack to prioritize long-form, evergreen spiritual psychoeducation that you can actually sit with. We close with a simple guided cleansing practice you can return to anytime. If this kind of psychology plus the sacred feels like home, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review. Beltane | Pleasure, Fire & the Window of Tolerance for Joy | S2 Ep.7

Scorpio Full Moon May 1st 2026 | Psychology of Joy | Celtic Wheel of the Year and Beltane Beltane is supposed to feel good, so why do so many of us flinch at pleasure the moment it arrives? I’m taking you into the fire festival of May Day as a real-world initiation: not just flowers and candles, but the raw nervous system truth of joy, desire, and what we do when life starts to open. We start with the astrology of Beltane and why it matters. A Scorpio full moon opposite the Taurus sun asks for release so the body can actually receive spring’s fullness. Venus in Gemini sextile Saturn in Aries highlights relationships built on integrity rather than charm, plus the kind of self-love you can live for the long haul. Mercury conjunct Chiron in Aries brings a brave invitation to say the true thing, especially around identity, visibility, and self-assertion. Then we ground the mythic in the practical: Beltane’s sacred fire, the May Queen and the Green Man as sovereign union, and fairy lore as a surprisingly modern warning about numbing out. From somatic therapy and polyvagal theory, we explore the window of tolerance for joy and why bliss can trigger collapse, guilt, bracing, or self-sabotage. You’ll leave with simple practices that expand capacity gently, including “glimmers,” plus Beltane rituals for intentions rooted in what you actually want. If you’re ready to feel more alive without micromanaging the fire, press play, subscribe, share this with a friend who needs more pleasure, and leave a review so more people can find the work.
