Ep. 11 Starting The Day Right - Keep Calm, Stay Happy

Thank you for being here. I'm super grateful to have you with me and be part of the conversation. In this episode, I share my morning routine and how I keep things easy and simple. It's so important to start the day with good intention and no drama by just planning ahead. From organizing lunches for the day / week, having a set routines for smooth mornings. This way you're not stressed, kids aren't rushing. Compartmentalizing tasks as a parent, makes such a big difference in everyone's mood and overall day. This leaves you room to be patient, calm and happy together as a family. It's also good to find time for yourself and practice healthy habits. Eating well, having a few minutes to take break, thinking good thoughts - all of this play such a big part in living a good life. episode Ep. 10 Being Stronger to Raise Kids Better artwork

Ep. 10 Being Stronger to Raise Kids Better

In this episode, we talk about what makes a woman strong. Why is it important to be strong in general? Why it's important to be strong as a woman, especially while raising children in the world today. How strong women means strong mothers, which leads to a better society. How being strong also is one of the best ways to be happy. The conversation about being strong is not only about the ability to take hard challenges in life but in rising above them too. To develop the patience, awareness and discipline to learn the lessons and prevent the issues from resurfacing. To be aware of the situations that cause the challenges to occur or recur in our lives and how to spot them, handle them with humility and maturity. It is important to note that strong women are born to parents who raise them strong. It starts from a young age or ideally, it is good to start raising young girls into young women. In everyday practice and situations that allow us to encourage our girls to be strong, resilient, smart and brave. To raise our sons to love and support women and raise them up. To protect them and take care of their spirits and build strength. To recognize that words and feelings play a big part in harnessing that strength. The more positive the environment is, the more it encourages a little girl ( or boy ) and a turbulent or habitually stressful surrounding diminishes one's strength. It builds self-doubt, worry, hopelessness and demotivation. Notice the title doesn't say to raise better kids. It states to raise kids better. It starts with the parent and how they raise their kids that determines the success of bringing up their children up well. The goal is not to make the kids better but to be better and be the example of strength. To show your kids your reaction and style in finding solutions. In the most peaceful and thoughtful way to create balance, harmony and progress in life. To set boundaries, conditions and values that support good behavior, character building and a positive and healthy mindset. This episode discusses how little girls need guidance of right and good. To be reminded of their power they are born with that we as parents must protect and develop in every moment. It reminds us to always be aware of our strength, that it doesn't really ever leave us. It's always there and we just need to find the ways to refuel it in our every day. That it is a powerful part of addressing the challenges of life and for parents, it is a significant element in raising our kids well- especially now. episode Ep. 8 Children, Discipline & How Good Communication Wins artwork

Ep. 8 Children, Discipline & How Good Communication Wins

Are you having a hard time keeping your kids disciplined? Are your kids behaving or are they giving you challenges and need some help?   In this episode we talk about discipline. How good communication makes such a big difference in raising kids and how effective it is in making successful parenthood easier. From my own experience, having kids from the ages of 2 to 22 has its own challenges in so many levels. Forget about arguing about toys or teaching them good manners. Discipline for life goes beyond that. Each child comes with his own set of needs, situations and we do our best every time to be there for them. What makes kids listen and behave? What is the secret to creating a safe space for kids to feel open and express? How can we be better and successfully navigate parenthood for the best results in raising our kids to be good people?  These are just some thoughts many parents have on the daily. In this conversation, we talk about how discipline and children work well together when there are certain key elements presented. Where respect comes so easily and feelings flow freely. Allowing parents and kids to understand each other and communicate better. I discuss how respect, being a good example through the way we speak, do and react is seen by our kids and emulated. They follow, and so we must lead by example. I find that happiness resides in homes where parents are fair, and children are heard. Where there is true affirmation and love in everyday actions. I’ll explain how and hopefully they help you get closer to your kids and improve your relationship for the better. episode Ep. 7 Raising Boys ( & Girls - How This Applies to All Kids ) artwork

Ep. 7 Raising Boys ( & Girls - How This Applies to All Kids )

Raising children has become a more interesting situation as the years go by. People have deviated from the typical mentality regarding a few long held beliefs because of developments in Psychology and real data gathered through generations. Raising boys and the approach to guiding them in life has evolved too. From the old adage of boys don't cry to letting boys wear pink to using pronouns, times have changed. Instead of the representative idea of raising boys to men and bringing them up to be masculine, responsible and diligent - the world is more open-minded in the sense that there is a recognition in different needs boys have and that the displays of behavior, affection and communication doesn't go far when it comes to their female counterparts. I also talk about my childhood and how a positive environment greatly contributes to being strong and good, it allows me to grow into a resilient and family-centered parent. Thanks to my parents' valuabale lessons, unwavering patience and support. I find, the connection between the home we're raised in plays a significant role in the success of our own parenthood. To raise kids properly to survive and thrive is backed by heartfelt dedication and determination. In my own experience, I have only boys. I am a woman raising all boys. So I never really had a gender specific style of rearing my sons. I believe the lessons I should teach them go beyond being male or female. That it is all encompassing and more centered to a focus of attitude towards themselves and others. Raising boys requires a sustainable direction towards teaching them love, and showing that love with emotion. To not be afraid to fall into gender stereotypes and to break them completely. That being fluid with roles - of being protective and being loving, having inclinations that usually are given to women or vice versa should not be boxed in. That they should not be limited to societal expectations, or general expectations of what boys are supposed to be. That the focus instead is this - to help them be prepared for a world that might not always be kind or fair, and that their reactions and attitude will greatly affect their happiness and decisions in life. For us to guide them so they have the confidence in themselves to make the right decisions for them. Not to please other people or wait for approval but to listen to their hearts and follow their dreams. To find good people around them to match them with positive, supportive energy and to know the difference of when to continue or when to know what to do when the moment comes. While we raise them to be brave, good, strong, confident and protect the ones they care about, it's crucial to have balance and recognize feelings. To acknowledge their fears and worries and teach them how to deal with them the right way. That when they have points to improve, our reaction is everything. Raising boys or girls, we just want them to feel our love, that we are here for them, no matter how young or old they are. The message is about unconditional love and support, because they are our children and the love is not about their gender or roles. It is about the message of guiding them to go off into the world, to contribute well and be part of a progressive and good society. Welcome to Episode 6 - Raising Boys ( and Girls ) and why this episode applies to all kids regardless of gender and orientation. ----- Welcome to Purpose Full - the podcast. Enjoy the conversation.
