The Women Who Make Us Resilient | Long Overdue, Sabrina and Wanda Join The Show

Sabrina and Wanda finally join Douglas and Chris on the mic — 40 years of marriage between them and a conversation full of love, laughs, and real wisdom. Wanda talks about how she jumped in to support Chris's new business by networking, because she genuinely loves meeting people and chit-chatting. Sabrina shares how she and Douglas say I love you every single night, multiple times — and sometimes she wakes up just to say it again. Both couples open up about how they've grown together, learned each other's rhythms, and built something that keeps getting stronger. The conversation moves into the 5 love languages and why doing the things YOU love doesn't always fill your spouse's cup. Then the 100/100 model — when one of you is thriving at 70, you meet your partner at their 30, and you come together. Sabrina describes how well she knows Douglas now — she can read the room, give him space, and wait for him to come to her. Wanda talks about Chris being a way better communicator than he used to be. It's two healthy marriages on display. FAQs 1. What does a healthy long-term marriage actually sound like day to day? It sounds like saying I love you every single night, multiple times, and sometimes waking up just to say it again. Appreciating your person for being there for you and vice versa. 2. How do the 5 love languages play out in real life? You can be doing all the stuff you love and it's not filling your spouse's cup at all. You've got to actively find out their love language and show them that way. 3. Is marriage really 50/50, or is there a better way to think about it? It's not 50/50, or 100/100 — some days you're thriving at 70, so you meet your spouse at their 30 and you come together. 4. How do you support your spouse when they're starting a new business? Wanda jumped in on the networking side because she genuinely loves meeting new people and chit-chatting — you find the piece that's natural to you and go all in on that piece. 5. What's the best way to bring up something you need from your partner? Skip the "you never" and try "hey, what could I do that would help support you right now?" — when you offer it first, they're way more open to telling you what they actually need too. ⸻ 🎙 Follow The Resilient Gentleman Podcast on YouTube and all major podcast platforms. 📅 New episodes drop every Thursday. Managing Stress | The "Scorecard" Mindset, Discipline & Mental Resilience

In this episode of The Resilient Gentleman Podcast, hosts Douglas Berger and Christopher Payton take a deep dive into stress — and a powerful concept many men live by without even realizing it: the "scorecard" mindset. As men, we often keep score in different areas of life — business, relationships, health, and personal growth. But is that a good thing… or does it create more stress? Douglas and Chris break down how stress shows up in everyday life, how to handle unexpected stressors, and why keeping score isn't always negative when it's done with intention and discipline. This conversation challenges you to rethink how you approach pressure, responsibility, and performance — and how to turn stress into a tool for growth instead of something that holds you back. If you're looking to better manage stress, gain control of your mindset, and become more resilient in every area of life, this episode is for you.
