In this interview recorded before a gig at the Bororen Community Hall in Queensland on 18th April 2021, Chad Morgan shares his story of sacrifice with portrait photographer William Debois and answers a few questions about his long career, his rebellious spirit and having a multi-generational fanbase. Sadly, Chad passed away on 1st January 2025, less than a year after his final gig. This is a public episode. Elster was the first person I interviewed and photographed when I was invited to be artist in residence for a whole week at the Bundaberg Regional Art Galleries. After several very turbulent weeks in my personal life, being able to listen to a young person speak of facing adversity in such a candid and honest way was a very grounding experience.
