Leo flexes his muscles talking about a new movie for his Vault choice with Rose Glass’ strong neo-noir Love Lies Bleeding. The main take is 2015’s German film Victoria. Directed by Sebastian Schipper, the story follows a women named Victoria, played by the lovely Laia Costa, who has a fun night out of dancing, meets a group of guys, and finds herself mixed up with the wrong people. The catch, however, is that Victoria is filmed in one singular take, with the camera constantly moving, and the intensity taking the audience for a wild ride. Ep. 53 Ocean's 8

We are still a Heist movie podcast but this week on Scene Stealers we can't stop talking about Anne Hathaway. Or everyone in Ocean's Eight for that matter. Leo and Charles love talking about another Ocean's movie and this time it is with a killer cast of cool leading ladies. For The Vault, Leo expresses his love for 1987's Masters of the Universe. Charles is spending time in the sand talking about Denis Villeneuve's Dune. The big take is 2018's Ocean's Eight, starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, the lovely Miss Hathaway, and this new crew. Ep. 52 Layer Cake

This week we add an extra Layer on Scene Stealers. We are talking about Matthew Vaughn's 2004 debut feature Layer Cake. For The Vault segment, Leo is talking about the 1986 Sylvester Stallone action flick Cobra and Charles is talking about Daniel Kaluuya's directing debut with the 2023 dystopian film The Kitchen. The main attraction is Layer Cake, which is all about gangsters and an unsuccessful drug heist. It was a breakthrough film for Daniel Craig, helping him land the Bond role and the beginning of Vaughn's rising career.  Leo and Charles discuss Craig's grounded demeanor, the misuse of an all-star cast, and an unpredictable ending. Ep.51 Billion Dollar Heist

This week on Scene Stealers we are talking about our first heist documentary and it is a big one with Daniel Gordon’s Billion Dollar Heist. For The Vault we are paying our respects to the late great Carl Weathers. Charles is talking about 1996s Happy Gilmore and Leo is going deeper into the vault for 1988s Action Jackson. The main take is our first documentary feature, Billion Dollar Heist, which covers the 2016 cyber theft of the Bangladeshi Central Bank. There are a lot of moving parts but Leo and Charles cover a lot of ground, both on how the money was stolen and how it connected to past cyber-attacks. Listen right now:

Archetype: Leaders

It’s another episode of Scene Stealers- Archetypes Series and this week it is The Leader of the Heist Crew. These are the people that have the savvy and skill to gather a top crew, put together a plan, and execute it to perfection.
