My name is Susan Beth and I will be showing up here every week sharing the weekly focus from the Seasonal Journal I created that walks us through each season of the year.  I’m a lover of God and words and art and this journal is a reflection of all those passions. The journal is a physical product that you can purchase but it is not necessary for the journey through the season.

In this week's journal reflection, we explore what it truly means to keep growing: not just acquiring knowledge, but embracing the sacred practice of unlearning, staying teachable, and trusting the One who authors every season of your life. Just as a tree's roots deepen under wind and resistance, our character is shaped through the very struggles we'd rather avoid. This episode is an invitation to stop fearing the growing pains and start recognizing them as divine invitations to go deeper. In This Episode * Why learning requires unlearning — and why that can feel threatening * The danger of holding old beliefs so tightly that growth becomes impossible * What it means to see through a glass darkly — and why that's actually freeing * How resistance, discomfort, and struggle are the very things that build lasting strength * Guided journal prompts to help you identify where you're being invited to grow Journal Prompts Featured Prompt 1: What are areas you've ignored or given up on that you need to learn and grow in? Prompt 2: In what areas do you need to keep reminding yourself that growing pains aren't a bad thing? Prompt 3: Are you looking to yourself to know all the answers, or are you looking to God to finish what He started in you? Key Quote "Life can feel scary when we think we know all the answers instead of ultimately knowing the One who does." In this week's journal reflection, we explore one of the most tender and necessary invitations of the spiritual life — the call to be unapologetically, authentically you. Week 11 of Being You gently reminds us that you were not made to fit into someone else's story. You were knit together with divine intentionality, and every unique quality you carry is not a mistake — it's a masterpiece in motion. What We Explore This WeekIn this episode, you'll be guided through: * Why the pursuit of belonging can quietly erode our truest selves * What nature teaches us about resting in our own design * How showing up authentically is an act of worship — a glimpse of the Creator within us * Sacred journal prompts to help you release comparison and celebrate your differences * A grounding mindfulness practice to bring you into the present season with open eyes and an open heart Reflection Prompts FeaturedCarry these into your journal this week: * Do you struggle with comparing yourself to those around you? * Do you feel insecure, different, or like you stand out? * Are you more focused on yourself — or on the God who created you? * Where did you release comparison this week? * How can you acknowledge and celebrate your differences? This Week's Intention"Your unique characteristics aren't mistakes to be corrected — they're gifts to be expressed." The God who designed and formed you knows you better than you know yourself. He planted the seeds of His image uniquely in you. And He is faithful to complete what He started. Resources & Next Steps * Journal Prompt: Reflect and write about your natural design — what makes you distinctly you? * Practice: Light a candle, take three slow, deep breaths, and settle into a sacred pause. Let the present season speak to your soul. * Celebration: Find one way this week to acknowledge and honor a difference in yourself that you've been tempted to hide. New episodes drop weekly. This episode is an invitation to slow down, exhale, and witness the evidence of growth both around you and within you. A gentle reminder that your becoming is holy, unhurried, and entirely on time. In This Episode * A poetic meditation on the season of blooming and what it means to trust the process * Reflections on how growth appears differently across different areas of life * Why comparison diminishes wonder — and how to return to awe * Personal story: childhood moments of being celebrated for gifts that surprised even her * The freedom of not straining or forcing what's already been placed within you * An encouragement that there is always more growth to come Journal Prompts Take these questions into your quiet time and let them open something tender in you: 01 Where are you seeing new growth blossom and bloom in your life? 02 How do the expectations of how you thought your life would look and feel affect how you are experiencing your life? 03 How can you cultivate more childlike wonder in your life? Season of Now  —  Reflection Practice Find a quiet moment. Light a candle if you wish. Take three slow, deep breaths — with each exhale, release the busyness and let your being settle into sacred space. Then gently sit with these: * What season surrounds you in this moment? Describe what you see, feel, and hear. * If this season were speaking to your soul right now, what might it be trying to teach you? * Where do you feel resistance to this current season? * What stopped you in wonder this week? * Where have you been surprised by unexpected growth? * What environment feels particularly holy? How is place speaking to your soul? Key Themes ✦  Every bloom has its own timing — some petals unfold slowly, others burst open overnight ✦  Beauty emerges in stages; growth appears differently in various areas of life ✦  Comparison diminishes wonder — return to your own sacred choreography ✦  Your creator planted seeds of His image uniquely in you ✦  God desires to co-labor with you in every season and is faithful to complete what He started Closing Intention "Celebrate the blossoming of new life in this season." The God that designed and formed you knows you better than you know yourself. Trust Him with every unfolding petal.

In this week's journal reflection, we lean into one of the most honest truths of the spiritual life: becoming who God created us to be requires a holy stretch. Like a tree that doesn't apologize for taking up more space, we are invited to expand beyond our current boundaries and into the fullness of our design. Drawing from the imagery of spring and the sacred parallel of childbirth, this episode explores how discomfort isn't something to escape — it's the very ground where transformation happens. In this episode, you'll be invited to reflect on: * What fears are holding you back from growing * Where limited self-worth is limiting your capacity for expansion * Where you're being called to embrace discomfort as a sign of becoming * How to recognize the tension of new growth as sacred movement This Week's Sensory Anchors:Texture — tension of new growth | Presence — dynamic expansion | Essence — wholly stretching | Feeling — sacred becoming Journal Prompts for the Week: 1. What fears are holding you back from growing? 2. Where is your limited sense of self-worth limiting your ability for growth? 3. Where are you needing to embrace discomfort to grow? 4. If the current season were your soul right now, what might it be trying to teach you? Light a candle. Take three slow, deep breaths. And let yourself simply be.

In this week's journal reflection, we're sitting with one of the most tender and powerful invitations of the spring season — the call to awaken to life. Not a cautious, tiptoeing kind of life. A bold, resurrection-fueled, childlike-wonder kind of life. Romans 8:15 (The Message) reminds us that the life we've been given through God isn't about grave-tending. It's about running toward Him with a wide-open, "What's next, Papa?" In this episode, I'm gently asking you to lay down the weight of tired hoping — tired of waiting for things to change in your relationships, your work, your world — and instead open your hands to the One who specializes in bringing dead things back to life. This week we explore: * Why growth requires both light and shadow * How surrender opens pathways to peace that striving never could * What it looks like to live with holy expectancy instead of quiet resignation * The questions worth sitting with: What is dead in you that God wants to breathe new life into? Reflection Prompts for Your Journal: * Are you living a resurrected life — or are you still bound up in fear? * What has the season around you been trying to teach your soul? * Where are you sensing awakening stirring within you? This isn't about perfection. It's about presence. Come as you are. Let's awaken together.
