Slightly Healed, Mostly Unhinged
Growing up, I thought this was culture: girls must act small, be submissive, never divorce, never wear what they want. So I disconnected from my culture—believing it had no place for me. But now I see the truth: it wasn’t the culture itself, it was my family’s perception of it. And the hardest part? I miss being close to the culture I once ran from. In this episode, I share how family dynamics can twist our understanding of culture—and what it means to reclaim it on your own terms.
