Small Towns True Crimes
The Jamison family disappearance refers to the mysterious 2009 case involving Bobby Jamison, his wife Sherilynn Jamison, and their 6‑year‑old daughter, Madyson, from Eufaula, Oklahoma. On October 8, 2009, the family drove to a remote, wooded area in the Sans Bois Mountains of southeastern Oklahoma, reportedly to look at land they were considering purchasing. When they failed to return, a search began. Their truck was found abandoned a few days later with their dog inside (malnourished but alive), along with wallets, cell phones, IDs, and about $32,000 in cash left in the vehicle. The family remained missing for over four years. In November 2013, hunters discovered skeletal remains in a wooded area about three miles from where the truck had been found. In July 2014, the Oklahoma medical examiner confirmed the remains were those of the Jamison family. Due to the condition of the remains, authorities could not determine the cause of death. The case remains unresolved, with theories ranging from foul play to environmental exposure, but no definitive explanation has ever been confirmed.
