Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1728903/fan_mail/new] Perfectionism can look like ambition, organization, or “high standards,” but inside it often feels like fear: don’t mess up, don’t get judged, don’t get rejected. We’re digging into the truth that changed everything for me, perfectionism is usually about safety, not excellence. When you see it as a protective strategy instead of an identity, you stop blaming yourself and start understanding what your nervous system has been trying to do all along.  We talk about where perfectionism often starts, including childhood experiences where mistakes came with consequences, criticism, or emotional distance. I share how I used to misunderstand perfectionists and how coaching and intuitive work helped me recognize perfectionism as a trauma response that can drive procrastination, people pleasing, overthinking, burnout, and the habit of never feeling “done.” We also get honest about how social media and “perfect” professional images can reinforce the cycle, even though real connection is built on being human and imperfect.  Then we move into healing: not by pushing harder, but by helping your body experience safety. I walk through simple embodiment and nervous system practices like slowing your breath, grounding, orienting to your surroundings, and learning to stay connected to yourself when things aren’t perfect. We end with the reminder that your worth was never earned through performance, and you can choose authenticity over approval. If this resonates, subscribe, share with a friend who needs relief, and leave a review with the biggest perfectionism pattern you’re ready to release. When Your Pain Becomes Your Purpose: The Wounded Healer

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1728903/fan_mail/new] The Embodied Healer and Entrepreneur Blueprint System [https://www.drdonnalee.com/the-embodied-healer-and-entrepreneur-blueprint-system] You can be gifted at helping people and still be quietly running from your own healing. That tension sits at the center of the wounded healer archetype, and it shows up everywhere I see coaches, therapists, psychics, empaths, grief workers, and spiritual teachers doing powerful work while carrying pain they have not fully faced. We talk about why this pattern is so common, why it creates deep compassion, and why it can also keep us stuck if we confuse service with self-abandonment.  I break down what the wounded healer really is, how pain becomes purpose, and the red flags that tell you you are helping from an open wound instead of a scar. We also go into why unresolved trauma and attachment wounds often replay through relationships. If you keep attracting the same type of partner, falling into rescuer roles, people pleasing, or overgiving, your nervous system may be choosing what feels familiar rather than what is healthy. Awareness is the turning point that separates healing from repeating.  Because I am a somatic practitioner, we also zoom out to nervous system regulation and the truth about triggers: healing is not the absence of activation, it is changing your relationship to it through safety, repetition, compassion, and time. If you are in the spiritual community, this conversation matters even more, because techniques and “being positive” cannot replace real inner work and mental health support.  If this lands for you, listen all the way through and share it with a fellow helper who needs the reminder. episode Self-Abandonment: When Keeping the Peace Costs You Yourself artwork

Self-Abandonment: When Keeping the Peace Costs You Yourself

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1728903/fan_mail/new] The Embodied Healer and Entrepreneur Blueprint System [https://www.drdonnalee.com/the-embodied-healer-and-entrepreneur-blueprint-system] If you keep saying “It’s okay” when it’s not, you might be living in self-abandonment and calling it kindness. I talk through a pattern I see everywhere: peacekeepers, helpers, people pleasers, and caretakers who stay focused on everyone else’s comfort while quietly losing touch with their own needs, boundaries, and desires. We get clear on what self-abandonment actually is: consistently dismissing your feelings, bending your boundaries, overriding your intuition, and choosing connection over truth. I unpack the hidden beliefs underneath it, like “my needs don’t matter,” “it’s selfish to put myself first,” and “if I disappoint people they’ll leave.” I also share how this often starts in childhood, when keeping the peace feels safer than being authentic, and how that wiring can follow you into adulthood without you even noticing. Then we bring it into real life: relationships where you overcompromise, ignore red flags, stay too long, or disappear inside the partnership because being alone feels scarier than being unhappy. I connect self-abandonment to resentment, burnout, anxiety, and emotional disconnection, and I explain the nervous system angle, including the fawn response. If you’re a healer, caregiver, empath, or spiritually sensitive person, this may hit especially close to home. You’ll leave with practical ways to come back to yourself using daily check-ins, small preference practice, healthier boundaries, and a redefinition of love that does not require self-erasure. Subscribe, share this with someone who needs it, and leave a review if this helps. What’s one need you’re ready to stop apologizing for? Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1728903/support]

Healing the Mother Wound: Why You Struggle to Trust Yourself, Set Boundaries, and Feel Enough

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1728903/fan_mail/new] People throw around “mom issues” like it’s gossip, but the pain underneath it can shape an entire life. We slow down and name what the mother wound really is: the emotional imprint left when a child’s need for consistent safety, warmth, and acceptance isn’t met. This isn’t about blaming mothers or rewriting the past into a villain story. It’s about understanding why so many of us grow up feeling like we have to earn love, hide our needs, or second-guess our own reality. We connect the mother wound to patterns that show up everywhere: people pleasing, perfectionism, anxious relationships, chronic guilt, overgiving, emotional exhaustion, and the pull toward emotionally unavailable partners. We also talk about how this isn’t just “in your head.” Childhood emotional neglect and chronic stress can shape the nervous system, creating hypervigilance that looks like being “good at reading energy.” We break down the difference between true intuition, which feels calm, and survival scanning, which feels urgent. Healing starts with awareness, then moves into nervous system regulation and reparenting. We share practical, body-based tools like grounding, deep breathing, EFT, gentle movement, and vagus nerve support, plus a set of journal questions to help you see where you abandon yourself to keep the peace. If you’re ready to build boundaries without panic and rebuild self-trust from the inside out, listen through to the end and then subscribe, share with someone who needs it, and leave a review so more people can find this work. episode Embodiment for Grief artwork

Embodiment for Grief

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1728903/fan_mail/new] Grief doesn’t just break your heart. It changes your breath, your sleep, your appetite, your muscles, your energy, and your sense of safety. We’re taking a clear, compassionate look at grief and embodiment and why the body often feels loss before the mind can explain it. If you’ve ever been told to “stay busy” or “move on” and it made you feel worse, this conversation offers a steadier path. We talk about grief as a nervous system experience and why regulation isn’t about shutting emotions down. Regulation is the ability to stay connected to yourself while waves of sadness, anger, numbness, and love move through you. You’ll hear practical somatic tools you can use right away, including longer exhales, feeling your feet on the floor, placing a hand on your heart and belly, EFT tapping, slow walking, gentle rocking, and humming to support the vagus nerve. These practices aren’t meant to “fix” grief, but to help your body feel safe enough to process what’s real. We also unpack the difference between moving on and moving forward. Healing doesn’t require forgetting or abandoning love. Over time, grief can transform and integrate, so your person becomes woven into your life instead of existing only as pain. If this supports you, subscribe, share it with someone who’s grieving, and leave a review so more people can find steadier grief support.
